Suggestion and Update Thread

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I might be autistic, this also might be the wrong thread, but everytime I see this image in random.txt on firefox it is broken

this is the CSS error it throws at me, I dont know a lot about css but I know the bare minimum like how to make a circle that's it lol, sorry if my suggestion sucks.

highlights fluctuate. You will get many false positives. especially in small threads.
Do you think there is a big enough difference between insufferable queers and insufferable furries to warrant this? As an alternative pink triangle (Adolf and his boys thought so) I saw someone suggest this idea and thought it was good so I created this artwork for you.

I've got a minor design/UI suggestion.

I appreciate the Latest Watched feature on the home page; however, something I think would make it even better, is if there was a link to the full Watched Threads page at the bottom. Something like this:

Any chance we could implement that, Null?

Got a theme suggestion. I'd like there to be a dark version of the Stealth theme. It's been brought up a few times. I prefer the saved space with no avatars and the saved bandwidth since I frequently use a VPN with KF. But also because all white text on the site can barely be seen. Either that or make some of the features of Stealth toggleable.

Is an Android app ever going to be a possibility? I imagine right now it would just be a wrapper for a web browser, but what about once sneedforo is up and running? Not sure if Google play would even allow it, but if so you could also charge like $2 for it to make some income, I know I'd pay that over using a web browser.

to what end? i'm sure vc/mc would just shut us down.

Phone posting contributes to brain rot anyway. I hate having to phone post, as I feel everything I post is slightly dumber.

FWIW, I've had no problem browsing the farms on a regular browser app. I guess it would be neat, but besides convenience, I'm not really sure what it would add.

In theory, you could bypass Google Play altogether and just upload the app's .apk file to Gumroad. As long as the end-user's phone allows apps to be installed from third-party sources, that should work on Android.

I think it would be a lot more trouble than it's actually worth, but it is an option.

yes.... but people who know how to do that also know how to send $20 in btc.

I made this cute watermark because Youtubers removed the simple ones Kiwis had applied to their images during the Mr. Beast tranny implosion.

Not that this is impossible to remove, but it's harder than one with no gradients. If some Youtuber doesn't even want to allow a watermark in their video, then they should at least have to work for it with the lasso tool.

This has been brought up in this thread before, but the idea of an automatic watermark option would be cool. Like a little checkbox you can click that bakes a repeating watermark texture over the image.

This could raise awareness of Kiwi Farms, and if it doesn't, it would at least inconvenience the Youtube parasites.

I like this idea. I'm kind of tired of dickless faggots who routinely use content from here but can't possibly have the balls to admit where they got it from. Make them work to avoid admitting what cowards they are.

I have two ideas. The first is a simple script that scans what someone is about to post for a short list of phrases:
"reply is broken"
"i can't reply"
"reply isn't working"
"i can't quote you"
"quote is busted"

etc.

I don't know what action is appropriate to take if a phrase like that is detected but failing the ability to send a couple of million volts down the line to their device, perhaps a pop up explanation. I see even accounts from 2022 still not understanding why they can't just hit quote on longer messages. I usually take the time to explain to them because I am good like that. Doesn't stop me wanting to punch their lazy heads, though.

The second idea:

A Kiwifarms wiki!

We all know it's increasingly hard to find unbiased information online. And like anything, Kiwifarms would have some sort of bias, but it would be a different one to most resources.

I don't mean so much for lolcows as the cataloguing of them is handled in threads and threads handle the serial nature of lolcows - what have they done now. I mean more of an A&H focus. There's a goldmine of information in those forums. Often capturing information which doesn't make it into the historical narrative. And A&H has the sort of spergs who would merrily write up what they know on various topics.

Building this under the umbrella of Kiwifarms means an pre-built community of knowledgeable spergs pre-filtered by the culture of the Farms. The site is already targeted by hostile forces so putting a resource up here doesn't make so much difference in that sense whereas trying to do one from scratch in the outside world is going to become immediately a target. It might seem like an additional layer of moderation for the existing mods, because it is. But it's probably not that much of an additional layer and some heavy-handed authoritarianism can rein in any runaway topic battles should they occur. Mostly it would just be people adding what they know.

This occurred to me this morning when I wanted some information on Jonestown and recalled someone writing more extensively in a thread here about the communist and socialist nature of the camp. Would be great to be able to look such things up here rather than Wikipedia. It'd start small I'm sure and could see how it goes.

I wont venture into the tech side here. MediaWiki is open source and written in PHP (same as Xenforo) with auth plugins that are fairly easy to use. But there are lots of options if we wanted to explore this.
