What is even the point of quote-replying to a post if it's very large? What does the quote actually supply to your response if it's that big? If you're writing a response to an author and quote his entire book, how does that even help? There is literally no point (aside from giving a button to click to view the reference post), but it also bloats the page with tons of extra shit that it does not need. If someone makes a huge post with images and youtube videos and every reply is a response to it, your browser loads the same shit 15 fucking times. It's awful.

It's strictly "Null doesn't like it" and I've always used technical means to try and persuade people to use the site in a more productive way that I believe works best.

This is almost like you own KF and can make rules about it. I for one am shocked. I thought this was an anarchist site where the mob rules.

This is a pretty slick feature, one mad lad did this and it instantly improves the site...what's you're excuse pre-elon Twitter?

In certain contexts, you will see white-out buttons like this:

These buttons mean you can quote in that thread and board, but you cannot quote this entire post. There's 3 reasons why:
  • Community Happenings thread does not allow quote-replying to stop people from doing so accidentally.
  • No OP of any thread can be quote-replied to. You're posting in the thread, so it is already obvious you're replying to that post.
  • Very long posts cannot be quote-replied in full.
For those instances, there is still a way to quote-reply to a specific part of the post. Simply highlight what you're replying to.

This feature also works with the multi-quote system, so you can reply to individual parts of multiple large posts at once.

Once you use +Quote, you then click this button on your post editor.

Oh thank fucking Christ I found out about this feature. Minutes of my life have been pissed away pruning autistic screeds to find just the right excerpt to shit on someone for.

Now I can be mean efficiently.
