Minor thing, could we have the "____ has replied to ____" changed to a slightly greyer font colour? similar how to ignored people's posts appear in chat. I think it'd be a little clearer.

Or make it white.
 
I suggest splitting chat into:
  1. The sad room. This is where people go to be sad, to cry, to argue and to complain about their lives.
  2. The lol room. Soliciting sympathy, being miserable, and arguing about bullshit are banned here and get you exiled to the sad room. This room is strictly for laughs under lucricities and other fun stuff, including making fun of the lolcows in the sad room.

I don't think the current embedded chat would allow for multiple chat rooms without some serious revamping. Even though I fully agree on multiple rooms/split, I'm guessing it's not easy to configure like that.

That being said I would like to see maybe an alternative chat sometime in the future if that is more doable.
Maybe an external one like IRC or Mumble. It would be a good use of the extra funds as well if we went ahead with a dedicated server.
 
IRC is antique and has caused problems in the past. The cool thing about AJAX based chat tied to the forums is accountability.

If you guys want to start up your own IRC, I don't give a fuck. Chatzy is always around. The issue with me writing code for what exists on the forum currently is I don't know what the issue is, what you want done, or why you want it done. I need a perfectly clear description of what I'm addressing before I do a damn thing.

Seriously, what do you want? Just a second room? The ability to create your own rooms? A supporter only room? A room for each lolcow? What's the extent?
 


I apologize. I meant to say that your complaint was resolved in a manner in which you will no longer have issue with chat and therefore no more discussion is necessary.
