Suggestion and Update Thread

there will be a button so you can switch between chatrooms....
I feel like having multiple chats decided by how long you've been around and whether you pay or not would divide the chat people up into cliques, which I can't see being a good idea to be honest. I can kinda see the advantages, but I'm not convinced that they outweigh the disadvantages.

As far as subject-mandated chatrooms go, that's not without its problems either. Sure, having a Jace stream chat might be handy, as the chat is otherwise more or less taken over by Jace stream discussion every time he starts streaming, but if chats are divided by subject, it's going to result in a much less natural flow of conversation, and people yelling at other people to go to different chats because the subject the 'main' chat veered into didn't fit the 'criteria' of that chat, which kills both conversations and the sort of 'free' nature that a lot of people like chat for.

That's just what I believe on the site gamers.

I always figured that's because some subjects interest some people, but not others. It's only natural in a chatbox that sometimes people don't feel the need to contribute to a specific subject. I personally don't really think that warrants splitting chat up, since, like I said, it's going to add a lot of unnecessary rigidity to chat in what subjects are ok to discuss and what subjects demand moving to a different room, which I personally think is going to be pretty annoying in the long run. But again, that's just my opinion.

As far as specific paid rooms, specific trusted members rooms and a general chat goes, the cliquishness I associate with that is something entirely different. It might just end up dividing people that right now get along perfectly well simply because people won't feel like juggling 3 different rooms.

No. Unfortunately you'll have to uncheck that box. Life is cruel.
Interestingly, if you post to the Talk to Staff subforum, it doesn't automatically e-mail you responses unless you opt-in.

Another spergy chat question:

Currently how are the "____ replied to ____" notifications coded in? Would it be a relatively simple thing to add into preferences for a unique user set-up? Like say for example untick the Jace subforum, or general, so you didn't get the notifications there? It's not particularly something that needs implementation but if other rooms are getting coded in, it's gonna be a big overhaul anyway, so it may be something maybe to consider.

We have a rule against excessive discussion of Chris's bodily functions. Since sex is a bodily function, can we officially say that hooker talk should be limited? The endless "Was Chris the grossest she ever had, or are there worse freaks?" thread derailments need some kind of response. Personally, I'm FINE with hooker talk IF the poster has some actual info on the events of the evening (Marvin, ABL, etc.) but otherwise ew.
