Suggestion and Update Thread

  • Happy Easter!
This is my first draft of what I would like a /cow/ skin to look like.

Icon comes from here.
I am extremely serious about wanting this to happen.

I was posting in the WetFlame thread and it was annoying to keep up, with a lot of good questions going unanswered because WetFlame would choose easier targets.

I thought about maybe there could be a cool down time on posting in a thread? Something like one and a half pages or 45 minutes before you can post again. Naturally cows themselves could bypass this to answer questions or certain contributors to threads could too.

I think people would be more careful about using their posts that way too, people would be more inclined to use their post more constructively than ask a question like "fill me in on the last few pages, someone?", which could potentially up overall post quality. People might also want to use ratings more to convey how they feel rather than respond with a line that essentially says "I agree, and here's some power level as to why".

The ramifications might be people stuffing everything into one mega post to bypass it or information not coming out as quick cause the guy who saw it first posted a few minutes ago.

I haven't been around as long as most everyone in this thread so I'd be interested to see how you weigh up the pros and cons.

There are a lot of lolcow-based unofficial smilies around that are not Chris or Jace, many of which are really good.
Could there be a "Lolcow" category?
Here, I'll try to gather some of them here:

DONTCALLANYBODY

Don't know if anyone else has sperged about this, but when I go to see which cows are on the farms, I have to do a fuckton of searching, trying to figure out who's real and who's fake; I think it'd benefit to have a "Verified" section for the "members" part of the site, where all verified parties in any given thread can be listed. Just my two-cents.

  • Don't roleplay in your posts. Don't write pretend dialog between people, such as Chris and his mother. Avoid writing monologues, they're also dumb.
Can we get this rule expanded to the entire forum? I've noticed on more than one occasion in the Tumblr forum people have written out prompts over what they think an SJW might say and then their reaction to it, and this kind of posting is literally never funny.

Can "SJW" filter to "the bogeyman", or "thing I don't like" or something? Social Justice Warriors are legitimately annoying, and make great lolcows, but the way people throw it around is devaluing it far worse than "A-log" or "ween" before they got filtered.

Can we have a label under people I disagree with that says "SJW"?

I propose a power-level rating introduced to at LEAST the Tumblr subforum. A negative one. I'd really like to read through threads without getting so-and-so's tragic backstory, but that's just me. Idk what the icon would be for that though. A tear?

EDIT: or like, an actual meter, like a thermometer kind of thing like this
