To be fair, he's insanely relevant for how much fun he is in Smash Brothers, not that anyone gives a fuck about F-Zero. Some characters (Ice Climbers, Captain Falcon, Ness/whomever) will have a fanbase that only knows them from Smash - and that's fine.

The Falcon Punch is one of the most hilarious and iconic things you can do in any Smash Brothers game and you can't tell me otherwise.

That's true. As for Ice Climbers, their game is probably among the worst of the NES originals yet I can't say I wasn't happy to see them return in Ultimate.

This just reaffirms my decade-long hope that Melee will die. You've never actually played the full game that was on to offer, you've never had fun with it. Professional Melee is a fake sliver of a video game these people have constructed for themselves and pretended it's worth something.

It's astonishing to me that Nintendo, the gaming titan that is responsible for the Mario Bros, Pokemon, et al. and revolutionary ways of playing is still somehow so archaic when it comes to the internet and shit like this.

They're just protective of their properties. Sometimes to an unfair degree.

Especially in this case where it's very possible for someone to pirate a rom in order to participate.

that's not all they did. They also DMCA'd Hyrule Warriors streams because people started playing the game before it was released in japan.


Mind you nothing was broken by street date, they seriously considered only the Japanese timezone as legit.

To be fair their event had Ultimate too and was shut down as well, even then they'd most likely complain about Nintendo's Online service regardless.

Saw someone on Reddit post a concept for a club Penguin fighter and was disappointed they didn’t propose grooming minors to be a B button attack.
