Super Smash Bros.

Saw the whole thing and HOLY SHIT! 8 players are a thing, a lot of Brawl's Features are back, the stages look great, and Mewtwo is back as free DLC. Time to get even more hyped everyone!

At least there's hope for Snake, Lucas, Wolf, Ivysaur and Squirtle to come back as DLC. I'm still not convinced Snake isn't already hiding on the Wii U version already. Having a starting roster of 40 is too suspicious to me. Yes yes I know, 'same roster' I know. But I'm cautiously skeptical and optimistic.

exball I deserve that one

Gotta say, I'm not sure Great Cave Offensive was a good idea for a stage. I do like the Donkey Kong Country Returns stage though. 8-player simultaneous seems insane. They chose the worst design possible for Ridley and the way they implemented him feels more like a pseudo-apology for not making him a playable character and that's bullshit. I'm really glad that the Wii U music list has been greatly expanded. As it is right now, Mitsuda's only song is the Mii Channel theme and that's just a waste of talent.

Personally I don't care about any of these new modes. It feels like they're trying to fill in the gap by leaving out Adventure Mode (I guess I was the only one who likes SSE and wanted a sequel), but my best reaction to them is "meh". I don't care about going around a board, or fulfilling Master Hand and Crazy Hand's challenges. I'd much rather have a giant story mode with everybody working together for a common cause and all that awesome stuff.

MEWTWOOOOOOOOOO! HE'S BAAAAAAAACK! WE DEMANDED AND HAVE RECEIVED!
I hope I've misunderstood what the announcer said. From what I understood, it looks like you need both games to receive Mewtwo. I really hope I just failed to comprehend, because that's not right. I didn't plan to get the 3DS version at any point, but I might have to if I want to use Mewtwo.

Mewtwo is currently an exclusive to both version owners.

However, you really shouldn't worry. I highly doubt they'd not offer him for money after a point.

The Mewtwo offer feels more like an incentive to buy both versions. Like "Hey, you want to get this character for free? Buy both versions of Sm4sh and download Mewtwo for free come Spring of next year!". Not that it's a bad thing, I'm sure they'll allow you to pay for it if you have only one version.

You know, I feel like I should bring up how Nintendo has done things until this point with DLC recently. It's pretty good news for us if you think about it...

Nintendo only really does DLC in packs. The three biggest examples are Mario Kart 8, Mario Golf World Tour and Hyrule Warriors and all of those feature packs of DLC as opposed to say a single thing. Each of them also had a season pass option with 2 of them giving you incentive to preorder them (preorder MK8 DLC, get 7 Shy Guy colors/7 Yoshi colors or preorder Hyrule Warriors DLC, get Dark Link skin) not sure if Mario Golf gave you incentive.

That being said, I would be extremely surprised if Smash didn't follow this style because of how consistent Nintendo is with this. Thankfully their DLC packs have an insane amount of content for their price. My guess is that anyone who didn't get Mewtwo can later buy him as part of a 'Veteran Pack' featuring him, hopefully Lucas and the rest of the forgotten from Brawl along with a few retro stages and new music to collect. Sakurai has said its pretty easy to port the character data from Brawl to the new games so you'd think it'd be a priority to finish up once its out since its not only easy, but its easy money.

The future of Smash is shining brighter than a PK Starstorm.

Dunno if this was posted already but

that kid really wanted dat pussy

Oh fuck, because Smash really needed Skylanders shit in it.

It's really not worth being upset over honestly. They're much better an idea than Skylanders thank god. Firstly, they are completely optional compared to Skylanders where you have to buy them all to get more enjoyment around the game. Secondly they are built to work in a wide variety of games so if you buy one you can use it in Mk8, Captain Toad, Mario Party, Hyrule Warriors and whatever else they announce in the future. They've only revealed how it works for Smash though.

Honestly I'm buying some partly because they look badass as shit, and the hopes that they'll add cool shit to more games in the future.

The trailer is hilariously cringe worthy though.

I almost want one for Link because they say it'll work with Hyrule Warriors.

...Almost. I can't justify buying toys (LALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU VIDEO GAMES AREN'T TOYS LALALA).

As a gigantic Metal Gear Sold fan, I would like to bring something to all of your attention.

This screen from the direct's event mode is simple enough right guys? Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Look at the player names. David is Solid Snake's first name, and John is Big Boss's supposed first name. The mission is named Solidarity. "Blood relative" almost sarcastically describing Snake and BB's relationship. 'Show them who's BOSS.' Lastly, its on hard mode. "Snake... Had a hard life." Being an incredibly iconic quote from MGS 4...

Now see it says that you can unlock a character on this event.

I don't want to make any claims... But you have to admit. This much insane conspiracy just from one screenshot is EXACTLY what Kojima would do.

Snake really kept us waiting, huh?

lol, probably just a weird but awesomely convenient series of coincidences
I would agree with you if Kojima doesn't do this sort of shit for every single game he's ever been involved with ever.

Plus they name dropped Snake.
