Okay, so if I had an on-site purchase system, what sort of things would people b interested in seeing? Would people join a subscription system just to contribute or would you expect something special in return?

Customization options. If you give people the option to change the color of their names or get a profile banner like on Twitter, people will for fucking sure drop twenty bucks for the site. If they’ll buy subscriber customization on ghetto Twitch, they’ll buy it here.

Kiwi merch would be cool too, you could make it so subscribers get first dibs on preorders.

Your New Project 2 account opens up a bunch of opportunities as well. Donate to it and you get a Kiwi Farms "subscription" as an extention? You could do something like what RebelTaxi does and take one request per subscriber on which lolcow you talk about on the stream. I would suggest special Discord privileges or something, but Discord is an STD.

You could do a lot of things. There are plenty of people who want to support you and the site.

There's quite a few neat things Gamebanana allows it's supporters to do that could be added.

A lot that you can get are features already available to the site's users, such as polls and image uploads, but some profile customization would be cool.

I'll donate with no strings attached. I haven't had this much fun online in like forever and I would love to support the site long term.

The only thing that's going to make it hard \ impossible for me is if we have to pay in crypto. You need to write an idiot proof guide for us old folks who still rely on cash and credit cards if that's the case. Maybe sell some dumb stickers online so that you can use a legit payment processor for if accepting credit cards is problematic.

Once I found myself gainfully employed for a while and 100% sure I wasn't going to get fired in less than three months, I promised I would send Josh something to get Horrifying, Deviant, and DRINK! added to my options. Sadly, the former never happened, but if I did send in my cash (or cash equivalent) in, I would want to see something similar.

Honestly, if the farms goes the cosmetic route, then users need the option to turn it off sitewide in case it becomes an eyesore.

My main concern with providing more rewards (especially cosmetics) for donating is that it signals to all users who the more dedicated users are and, in turn, non-donating users may change their opinion to those of the dedicated users as well as jerk those dedicated users off for the sake of fitting in. While there is the "True and Honest Fan" tag, this "cosmetic" is simple and does not differentiate between the most dedicated paypigs and those who just want to help out some times.

Torrent trackers like to give you a customizable icon next to your name, a custom title, a second avatar under your actual avatar that fades in when you mouseover, a mouseover text for your avatar image. Dumb harmless stuff.

I like the idea of more reactions. I think dumb titles are a bigger deal than people want to admit. I also think a lot of us would support without actually getting anything significant.
