This was a terrible argument even when I thought those prices were true, yea sure, inflation bla bla bla, but gaming is more profitable than it's ever been, especially for Nintendo, and meanwhile people are poorer than they were in the 80s because of general inflation compared to wages. More than that, in reality, games were actually cheaper back then because they went on sale much more frequently, and most people rented their games for a low price, not to mention that games actually were more expensive to distribute back when each one was a mini computer. But man, DKC2 and Yoshi's Island went on sale for 37.99 within a year of launch, despite being number 6 and 8 top sellers for the system, at 5 and 4 million copies sold, meanwhile, no Nintendo game has ever gone on sale in the past 10 years, including dogshit games like Princess Peach showtime (even Arlo called it a piece of shit lol), and several have increased in priced in that time like DKC TF.
Yes, he's correct in the points he made against Nintendo, but he comes off as a hypocrite when he's telling people not to buy Switch 2 while he admits he will buy one himself, which makes me question what his principles even are to begin with or how serious he is in following them.
I can afford the Switch 2 as well but I sure as hell wouldn't buy it for any reason because that would make me a willing participant in helping to enable Nintendo's greedy and disgusting practices.
This is just his laziness and something I will shit on him for. Have at least a drop of self-restraint, nigger. I GET being lazy. I'm also lazy, but I still force myself to go to my wage cage and also I can force myself to NOT waste money supporting JewJapNigger greedy business practices.
I think Synth is just trying to be honest with people, and he expects people to accept that his situation is different and that his purchase doesn't matter. Nintendo can still back down if 1,000 streamers all buy their console at launch and write it off as a business expense, and I can't really fault Synth for keeping his options open by buying at launch, especially since he does want to play the launch titles, however he should have kept his mouth shut, since telling people that he is going to buy is going to cause other people to buy.
The emulator will be out quick no doubt
I wouldn't be sure of that, we all thought Switch 2 was going to be basically the same as Switch 1, like the Wii and Gamecube, because of Yuzu and Ryujinx getting taken down, but it seems like that isn't the case and it's likely emulators devs will need to start from scratch, and that Nintendo just didn't want a repeat of the TotK piracy situation with people emulating TotK/BotW/Kirby on day 1, since despite being made for Switch 2, they are Switch 1 games that are just too resource intensive for the Switch 1 (although I would be interested in seeing some homebrew autist check their performance on an overclocked Switch Oled, which is more powerful than Switch 1 if you let it use its hardware, and can run TotK at a consistent 60fps with overclocking.).
