Unless you're a grognard who only wants combat/the most optimized shit ever, this is fine within reason. Note: I am reading "unoptimized" NOT "retarded" action. Like a character is pissed and does an all out attack an enemy way above his weight class/charges in instead of letting the enemy hit the trap because he has history/is goaded by the enemy. Stuff like that is fine, if explained above board and you are willing for the others to reign your char back in. Also if you accept "Yeah I get you're doing it for the bit, but the bit might kill you" and you accept the consequences.
I know this will lump me in the Critical Roll faggot crowd, but I do like to roleplay in my roleplaying game. I just also accept it's a game with objectives and dice rolls, not theater improv bullshit.
