There's a race straight called Negros who are the less intelligent offshoots of a race called Nordics.

Not even subtle about it are they? Also a lot of right wing political spergery about Antifa and BLM. In a game that's supposed to be about adventure and survival on dangerous alien worlds. Even if you agree with it, what the fuck does that shit have to do with one another?
 
Shocking news alert: the other player wasn't able to get an Obojima one-shot together in time! In fact, he still hasn't "finished" the rulebook (as if he's reading it like a novel)! I ran a rules-light game where the PCs were all sewer animals, it ended with them accidentally killing a chain gang of rats with a bomb and scheming to steal more powerful bomb-making materials from humans in the city above. Everyone had a really good time and agreed to meet next week (this is usually a biweekly table). Still, the other player had the nerve to promise that he would have the Obojima one-shot ready by then. It was pretty clear from the expressions on everyone else's faces that no one believed him or was especially excited. Like, nigger, we're not changing up our schedule because we're really looking forward to your game...

They should be up to the surface and back to their settlement by the end of the next session, and the regular DM will return in May, but... *jots down note*

Why are boomers such no-guns fags? These look horrible, like just awful. It's almost AI-like where they don't actually understand what a gun is or does, they just make something that vaguely resembles the shape. My favorite is the "Autorifle" (they point out sometimes it's called a "Battle Rifle"), and then they slop together a bullpup assault rifle with a hole where the chamber should be. Imagine trying to shoulder the "Assault Rifle", I appreciate the weird paintball gun attachment on the bottom.

If you think those are bad please don't ever look at some of the shit in Shadowrun sourcebooks, especially those ones produced during 4E when CGL almost went tits up, your head might literally explode. Their guns range from the absolutely fucking horribly drawn, similar to those you posted, but somehow also some of the laziest shittiest photoshops of real guns you can imagine.

Yeah, that really annoyed me. We did a few sessions, and afterward discovered that merely repairing the damage to our ship cost all of the money we made from the haul. We took one shot from a raider, and not some crazy crit, just some basic hull damage. That one shot obliterated our entire income.

You know, back when I played Warframe I occasionally liked to tweak fans about how some of the guns in the game looked ridiculous, but there was a kind of charm there.

What the fuck is the difference between an 'auto rifle' and an 'assault rifle'? How are you supposed to get your hand around the grip of that shotgun? How the fuck does that auto rifle even feed from the magazine?

40k guns look downright sane in comparison.

Isn't that Monte Cook's system? While I never played, from what I've seen and read from others, it looks like it would be better for one-shots or smaller campaigns while also having good depth in the system with crunchy rules.

I like traveler, but I really can't defend the current rulebook. It's laid out terribly. There are unexplained rules, the art all around is pretty bad, and the guns feel like they were designed by someone who has never actually seen or used a gun before (Mongoose are British, so they probably haven't).
