What are y’all running to hold your tendies and skittles while you clear Mom’s basement?

I have a Ferro Slicker PC with lvl 4 plates. I have a few different chest rigs and even LBE I’ve been messing with.

I hate having a bunch of stuff on a belt, so I run as minimal as possible in that area.

Lower back and neck injuries make all of it less fun as well.

Nice try GLOWbohomo.

Opinions on Load Bearing Vest vs. Chest Rig vs. Battle Belt vs. Web Gear?
I've yet to use a standalone battle belt but the rest are all pretty terrible in their own way. Seems like it's similar to web gear minus the pain from suspenders.

They all have their pros and cons like anything else.

The chest rig is the obvious choice if you have to sit in vehicles. It can work well with belt mounted pouches and holster if set up correctly. Having everything up front puts more strain on your lower back, and it can be harder to go prone.

LBE is nice because you can spread the weight out, and use the suspenders to put some of the weight on your shoulders, while the rest is on your hips. Obviously it’s not gonna be fun to wear in a vehicle.

I’ve never used a load bearing vest. It’s hot in my AO, and I don’t see a reason to try one.

Battle belts lack the suspenders, and I don’t see that as an advantage if you are really loading them up.

In my experience once you wear this stuff for several hours, you really start to think about what you can do without.

The obvious advantage, especially over a chest rig or belt, is capacity. You can load them up with pouches but a good many will be inaccessible unless you slide it off.
Downside is sizing and fitment in that it's as uncomfortable as any other vest that's only overlooked if you wear it like a second skin for work, as a job. If it's for rucking it or a conscious choice you're better off picking something more specialized like a chest rig or LBE.

Battle belts are theoretically decent in that you shed weight for focus and everything is within arms reach even if it's at the small of your back. I find LBE to be cumbersome due to all the weight on the shoulders but that's mostly myself asking too much of the setup and not pulling on a backpack.

Don't spend ridiculously crazy amounts of money on this stuff. Don't buy Chinese trash, but if your alternative is spending over 1000 maybe try getting something used and reinforcing it with a sewing machine.

On the other hand, Condor is fairly reliable. Very bulky and unappealing with limited customizability but if you need it, it's been worn in both the sandbox and eastern europe and it's done the job fine.

That can be a problem with anything when you try to put too much stuff on there. With the LBE or a belt with suspenders you can adjust the amount of weight on your shoulders. You can adjust the belt part to get more or less on your hips.

Those of you with backpacks, what MOLLE stuff do you find most useful in everyday scenarios? I got myself a 5.11 rush 72 and I simply adore it. I use it mostly to carry my work laptop and an extra change of clothes, and when doing light camping it's my go-to. I've got an IFAK pouch as my only MOLLE, and I carry a simple set of first aid items in there. Nothing fancy.
Any input?

I keep pouches that can hold 1 liter Nalgene bottles on the sides of my backpack. I also have a knife with a sheath that fits behind the Nalgene pouches.
