Taliban offensive of 2021 and collapse of Afghan government.

does anyone remember the news story of some middle eastern informant who killed his daughter because she ended up becoming a porn actress after their family settled into the Czech republic or somewhere? her jewish boyfriend was the one who recruited her.

how long is that going to take for a similar story to pop up when an afghan interpreter lands in freezing Baltimore, thinking they were escaping the corrupt afghan government, the poverty, drugs, and violence. then their kids go to school, learn that they might not be a girl or boy like they thought, taught that they're here because their countrymen are bigoted backwards primitives, pride month starts and the kids start watching YouTube habitually.

Already happened, kinda, this article from City Journal talks about a similar story (minus the murder), but it's not the sole focus: https://www.city-journal.org/transgender-identifying-adolescents-threats-to-parental-rights

You assume they know how to use and maintain them, which is questionable. I would bet that almost all the armor and aircraft are going to wind up being sold to China and Pakistan, because Xi is certainly salivating over getting to pick over all the weaknesses of American military tec without having to do a damn thing.
The rifles, RPGs and anti aircraft weapons they'll keep. The vehicles can be cannibalized for spare parts. As long as they have some competent mechanics they'll remain usable. The aircraft seem to range from old Soviet jets to black hawks and drones. The Taliban will be really keen to have an air force to take on their domestic enemies so I imagine they'll be looking to cut deals with the Chinese, Pakistanis and maybe even the Russians to keep them maintained and train up pilots and ground crew.
What a disaster. It's a free for all. Every country for themselves and nobody from the Prime Minister of The UK to the King of fucking Spain can get through to the American President. He must be taking a nap.
Biden has completely fallen apart when faced with the first real crisis of his Presidency. I don't think it's the Afghan disaster that's made him meltdown I think it's the media criticism, his administration didn't expect it and obviously can't handle it. For them the media are there to carry their water, to offer only unwavering praise and to attack the GOP. All political operations have, as a first order priority, a media strategy. Everyone will be taught how to message, will receive their talking points, to maintain discipline. Biden's crew have none of that. When they've given interviews or held press conferences it's been one embarrassing cringe filled disaster after another. You can only imagine how they're feeling when some random CNN reporter, who they know by first name and who they consider to be virtual employees of the DNC, starts asking tough questions. Off the charts cognitive dissonance.

the question is why are the media turning on biden like this? is the goal to get him to resign so kween kamala can step up and take the throne?

More like this disaster is so spectacular even they won't carry water for it. This is a Chernobyl level fuck up and the last thing CNN and the New York Times want to do is tell an incredulous American population that "everything is under control comrades! Go about your labor!"

Even the most hardened NPC will have an operating system error if they tried that, and the media knows it.

This is not the first crisis, the border has effectively ceased to exist and only the machinations of the media prevent it from being a major talking point. The Biden administration has let in at minimum 1.5 million migrants this year if you want to be conservative with the numbers that the CBP has managed to put their hands on. The real number of migrants could easily be double that as they evade CBP. The only "plan" they had was to just charter bus and send them deeper into the country with a promise to show up for their immigration court dates, something the migrants never do. The moment the media stopped carrying water for Biden there was a meltdown into infighting, its honestly pathetic when contrasted to the hystronics the Trump administration faced for 4 years straight.

Well they can always try

The nature vs. nurture issue is definitely an old one that has no clean answer, both scientifically and philosophically. Personally, my policy is save judgement until they fuck up, but every kid deserves a fighting chance, which they aren't gonna get in bumfuck Afghanistan.

I think of people like dogs. While there are definite behavior predispositions in different breeds, any of them can be raised right or wrong. Pitbull, lab, dachshund, whatever - BUT a poorly raised pitbull is a helluva lot worse than a poorly raised dachshund.
But there is a clean answer; both matter, as you even say. But despite that, only through the belief that nature can be of no consequence, that if you just raised everyone right they'd be the same, and that raising the difficult right doesn't use up the resources of raising two or three better predisposed people right, do modern notions of equality and "everyone deserves a chance" follow. People who think that don't seem to think about what a chance is, and how much a chance really costs. And how it's a moving, flexible target, that is pushed about by those with means and incentive to do so in order to perform eugenics on the population. It is an emotional lever for people to control populations with. There could be many happy non-third world children in our cities, but instead, what have we got? What do these people want to do to the existing cities full of happy children, like those in Japan and those remaining in Europe? All under the pretense that these foreign kids deserve a chance too, and that chance for some reason isn't in their own country.

Then there is this individualist notion that these kids didn't have a chance just because they themselves weren't given it. Again, this is a failing modern notion, that the child's future isn't in the hands of the country, people, place, and parents, and if those fail, then so it goes with the child's chance. And while ignoring this allows us to justify importing foreign kids because "they never had a chance" it also allows people in the US to not be so bothered as their leaders sell off their children's futures because their children weren't able to astrally project themselves from their mother's womb to secure it themselves. It's just too bad that the immigrants got to the cities before our kids did. It's just too bad that a culture to guide our youth has been let decay. The notion that it was their responsibility to protect these things, to protect their children's chance, to not give it away to foreign kids who's people failed to protect theirs, escapes the individualist. Though, perhaps the blame belongs a level higher, as the cultural leaders are the ones who push these notions on to us all, and most people have never entirely accepted them, but despite that powerful people force through changes and ignore the massive opposition to them. A healthy democracy needs to be fortified, or so they say.

In any case, the world isn't so simple that you can be a good person by always siding with the children, let alone those on the other side of the world.

I think everyone knows the reason why Biden did what they did, but it really boggles the mind that he went ahead and did it anyway. Could they not, just this once, give Trump a single sliver of credit for something? They like to suck each other off that the "adults" are back in charge and that they're trying to heal the political divide in the country, well that would have been the perfect time to do it. Guess that being the president to end America's longest war or whatever was too good to not add to Biden's legacy.
The problem with "healing the political divide" is that in order to actually do it, you have to be willing to admit that to some extent, you were in the wrong and the other side has normal people with valid concerns who are not Literally Hitler.

Instead, they seem think they can do it by just doubling down and working even harder to convince people that the opposition is, in fact, Literally Hitler.
