Fair enough, it is his vision after all.

For how autistic he supposedly is, it continues to amaze me that Tamers is effortlessly better at stating his case and dealing with most of his detractors than the majority of Hollywood and Twitter.

Like, read this statement and then compare it to a tweet by Rian Johnson or whomever talking about the Last Jedi. Shit is almost night and day.

And as he said, the only reason people have a problem with the voice change is because most of his audience knows the SU Knuckles purely from his content. I actually went and watched an original episode of SU with Bartleby in it and was pretty thrown off by the change in how the character was portrayed.
 
Saw Cybershell's community post about him making a Tamers video. I was initially a bit pissed off that he hid the video behind Patreon because of his fear of normies ruining it. I decided to bite the bullet and watch a couple of his videos and... I have been hooked ever since. This guy makes some of the funniest shit I have watched in ages. It's not even unintentional comedy either his videos land joke after joke and it leaves me in stiches. These videos have made me laugh more than actual comedians.

His artstyle, while basic, is still fairly competent. I have seen worse art from artists who try and to top it all off the moments of sudden animation is both hilarious and impressive.

His characterisation of the cast is just complete genius. I love how he reduced Sonic to this always happy, pathetic, overweight guy who just worships Bartleby. Although despite Bartleby calling Sonic a bitch constantly and make him do degrading shit there relationship is oddly... sweet? This series surprised me with genuine heartfelt moments between the two of them. I like how majority of characters will constantly make racist and sexist remarks but the series would go on to have a message about accepting homosexuality. Ill stop before I go deeper but I love every single character in the show.

I completely agree with Cybershell now. Normies will see this, think its just some autistic loser to make fun of and drive him off the internet. While he may be an autistic loser for all we know, he's a damn entertaining autistic loser. I would love to see normies try to make something even close to the level of entertainment I get from Tamers, dude is an absolute genius of comedy. Losing him would be a tragedy.

I've been thinking about how he manages to make these genuine moments with the characters, despite the constant violence and insanity, and I think it all just boils down to the concept of "cartoon logic".

While not the same kind of cartoon logic as Wil E Coyote having a rock fall on him, the surrealism of the character designs/settings perhaps create enough of a dissonance, allowing the constant deluge of insults and beatings to come off more as dark humor than harsh.

But then again, why does it work with Tamers, and yet not at all with something like late Family Guy? After all, Family Guy is also a cartoon, but the dark jokes and brutality often don't land and comes off either as very tryhard and/or gross. Maybe Family Guy just lacks a certain amount of balance with it's "slow dramatic zooms" and tacked on special moments at the end of episodes.

Something about the Hedgehog family actually comes off as very down to earth and realistic (which is weird because they are from Mobius), and I think it stems from being able to time his jokes in between dialogue that sounds strangely, natural? I hesitate, because they say so much ridiculous shit, but maybe it's the dynamics or something.

When you can deep-dive into a series about a Sonic the Hedgehog fanfiction series, about characters from a long forgotten show, with a bizarre shipping, racist/sexist writing and excessive fart and ass fetish shit throughout every episode. Tamers really thinks out these episodes and forms something truly unique. He is a genius who was ahead of his time.

I think Tamers' appeal is that he's basically a "good guy" alternate universe version of CWC, if he had a Robert Crumb-esque ability to laugh at his own eccentricities, an actual work ethic, and an unassuming personal life (no mom rape, for one).

In the very early days of CWC, some thought Sonichu was something like Deagle Nation, a pitch perfect tongue-in-cheek parody of internet autism by someone who was obviously a huge sperg themselves, but self-aware...because Sonichu would actually be kind of brilliant if it was. Tamers actually is that and it rules.

I think that is the genius of Tamers. It's clear that he's into the things he makes, Sonic Underground, asses, farts, homosexuality, etc. yet is smart enough to realise how stupid and funny those things are in the first place and senses the opportunity to make something funny out of it. It helps that Tamers barely has an online presence and stays relatively anonymous, which just adds to the mystery of whether or not he's a serious or trolling; when in reality is both. If Tamers has autism I would be shocked because he has genuine ability to write characters and comedy.

Although I have to say the comparison to CWC is a bit extreme. While they share a lot of things in common, they are on the opposite sides of the lolcow spectrum. The comparison I and a good few others make is with Lazerbot aka. The author of Tails Gets Trolled. Both are similar in a lot of ways but I feel Tamers does a much, much better job at being the half-joke, half-serious author.

Tamers is my favorite person with a thread here. I'm really happy that it exists because otherwise I would've never discovered this masterpiece. The best part for me is how you can never really tell if it's genuine autism or just an artist who's genius we can't comprehend.
