Target moving to gender neutral signage for toys

Target is moving to gender neutral signs in toy and decor sections in some stores. What do you all think about this?

Personally I don't think it's that big of a deal, but it's funny to see people going apeshit over it. Sure, most girls like girls toys and most boys like boys toys, I understand there are biological differences here, but a lot of kids don't and the kids probably aren't going to care about the change that much. It might very well introduce some kids to new toys they wouldn't look at otherwise. A lot of people are saying it's "confusing" but if you're an adult and can't figure out which aisle has Barbie dolls in it without it being pink and labelled GIRLS I think you may have a problem. Also, they were probably having a lot of issues figuring out which isle the My Little Pony toys should go in and this helps solves that.

Someone trolled a bunch of these idiots with a fake Facebook account:

What do you think?

The writer of this article is seriously chimping out about it.

Honestly, I don't see how this can be a bad thing. If anything it will just make it easier for parents to find what they're looking for for their kids. No one is going to get confused because a My Little Pony toy doesn't have "FOR GIRLS ONLY" plastered onto the box.

Yeah, I am surprised it got published in Time, I thought they usually had a liberal slant?
More hilarious chimping: http://www.theblaze.com/contributions/yes-i-do-want-my-daughter-to-conform-to-her-gender/
Also, Breitbart originally reported erroneously they were doing it for clothes as well, causing even more anger.

The glorious part about this change is how the more "conservative" sites are freaking out over it and the SJWs are in turn freaking out over the former freakouts because "it's so terrible that society has such a huge issue with this and it speaks to all this toxicity in regards to gender and trans and (you know the rest)". It's a self-sustaining machine of continuous salt.

And all over something that really should never have had gendered labels in the first place. It's amazing to behold.

I guess I understand where this writer is coming from, but these are all things that have nothing to do with toy isles in a department store. If your children are learning gender roles from labels at the fucking mall you're doing something wrong.

Sadly I kind of think the SJWs are winning this one, at least judging by those last two articles. The writers have lost all control of their jimmies.

And seriously, people should let kids play with whatever the fuck they want. My brother played with Barbies when he was a kid and it didn't make him any less of a man. Hell, he and I had a lot of the same "boy toys" and playing with them didn't make me any less of a woman because Transformers are the shit.

Except it's a non-issue and it was going to happen regardless. SJWs are not really setting the trend here as society was already going in a "our gender roles are kind of stupid" direction before the "movement" became a thing. What makes it glorious is that the decision was made by rational minds and not inherent bias, but the two sides holding all the bias are the only ones losing their shit.

This one from the Target troll really reminded me of OPL. If their rant ended with "I am STRAIGHT" I wouldn't have blinked

Over the years it's become more socially acceptable for little girls to like boy's toys like superheros and shit and eventually I can see gender defined toys dissolving and rather than being girl toys and boy toys (heh) there will just be toys.
When I was giving away my g3 ponies to kids a lot of mothers came to me and said they wanted some for their little boys who liked mlp (they always felt the need to include they were autistic, as if I'd be more inclined to give away more ponies to autistic kids rather than not autistic kids) In total I gave away roughly 200 ponies to local children and like, half the people who asked for them had little boys who wanted them.
Times is changing I tells ya

It's about damn time!
Children at my old work, both boys and girls, engaged in the same activities like dressup, playing with dolls, k'nex, legos etc. I had always suspected the gendered toys label was largely for grownups more than it was for the kiddos. Well done, Target.
