Taskmaster, a British gameshow - Now free for everyone to watch on YouTube

We have our second Champion Of Champions and it was well earned for the grape task alone! Congrats Richard Herring.

We also have Season 14 contestants announced.

Dara O'Briain
Sarah Millican
John Kearns
Fern Brady
Munya Chawawa

Dara and Sarah could be very good and I'm kind of excited about that. No idea on the other 3.

I agree Dara and Sarah should be great contestants, but sometimes the lesser known comedians make the show.

Very true. Remember Mawaan being the Dark Horse of Series 10? Or Mike Wozniak proving to be the consumate Taskmaster contestant?

Mike Wozniak was an excellent contestant from start to finish, if they were to do a best of returning contestants show my picks would definitely have him in the line up.

I've been rewatching it and god I want nothing more than to get James Acaster and Kathrine Ryan and lock them up somewhere far far away from any TV camera's both come off as nothing but nasty little cunts.

Season 13 of Task Master was decent. Was getting burnt out with the show, especially the schtick Alex Horne pulls, I find him grating lately. Was really fun watching most of the S13 cast metaphorically beat up on Alex. Except Chris Ramsey, he was an ass kisser whose points were padded almost every episode, which is opposite what some ITT think, but was clear imo, which proves nothing. Simple matter of taste. Judi Love was phenomenal, never heard of her before, and Ardal was great too. Sophie winning was strange, was sure Chris had been padded to victory, I think they extra padded Sophie in the end to make up for all the extra points thrown at Chris the entire time. Think Judi got the most out of the season, probably helped her career most, as it showcased how funny she can be, better than some of the other contestants.

So Taskmaster is back for Season 15, with Frankie Boyle, Ivo Graham, Jenny Eclair, Kiell Smith-Bynoe and Mae Martin (who is some kind of they/them weirdo).

Yeah, really not looking forward to 15, and it may be the first season I skip. Frankie Boyle is an unfunny 1990s edgelord, the UK's answer to Opie from the OnA show. Ivo Graham, I've only ever seen on that travel show with Fern Brady, and then only in "best of" clips where I didn't even notice he was there. I've only seen Jenny Eclair do characters, but I guess they're legally obligated to have a female who is incapable of a brisk walk on every season now. Never heard of the two diversity contestants. Seems like the show is slowly devolving to the American version they did, where being inclusive and inoffensive trumps the actual comedy. Didn't they just contract for 5 more seasons? I guess we'll see how shitty it gets. Greg Davies doesn't like to stick around shit when he gets bored or when the quality goes too far south, so maybe he'll do something lolcow-y. Then again he also seems like the kind of guy who has a lot of unsavory stuff the BBC might know about, so he might just march on obediently.

Season 14 was good. The first episode of 15 was promising. Haven't seen the second one yet.

I’d expect them to end on Season 25, unless one of the Champions dies. It’d be the logical end point, and with them already renewing it to 20, they’ll probably go all the way.

Taskmaster is back for season 16. The line-up comes is Julian Clary, Lucy Beaumont, Sue Perkins, Susan Wokoma and Sam Campbell.

Seems like a weak cast so far. I've only watched the interviews, and Campbell was the only one that wasn't annoying. Sue Perkins can sometimes be OK, but I don't know about Taskmaster - she's too competent to be a complete fuck-up, but too lazy and gay to actually be funny; really the only time I've seen her be funny is when playing off of other people, so unless Alex is pretty involved, I don't know how well she'll do. Then again, I've been wrong about a lot of comedians on TM. Clary is a fucking one-note annoying pile of shit; Lucy Beaumont is only there because she can tolerate the furry little goblin fucking her, and I don't know anything about Wokoma, but her interview was shit, and I assume she's just there as the token nigger. The only one that's ever regularly funny on TM was Doc Brown, and half of that was just because the rest of the contestants were so damn strong.

I ended up liking this season more than I thought I would if only for Sam and Lucy. Julian had his moments, but the two Sue's were completely forgettable in their performances. The hotel task with the team of three was by far the highlight of the season. I had never heard of Sam Campbell before this and became a fan, I've always like that weird, awkward style kf comedy and can understand why some might be turn off by it.

Yeah, this season was surprisingly good.

Errm... I feel bad for not knowing that Bender was dead... :(

I have recently fallen in love with this show. Over the past few months, I have binged the hell out of it thanks to their super generous Youtube channel.

What is everyone's all time most and least favorite contestant? I'll go first.

I think my most favorite has to be Rhod Gilbert, just because of how much utter chaos he caused...

Ehh.. For least favorite, I think I have to go with Kate Berlant from the American version. (they were all terrible in that one though.)
