It seems incredibly obvious to me - they both profit from it greatly. It got them both a great deal of attention, which is the currency of the internet, but also likely gets Chaya, at least, actual money related to her Xitter account. Their animosity is clearly real and mutual, but that doesn't mean they can't realise that they both have a great deal to gain for spending an hour in the company of a bitch they hate, as long as it's on camera.

YouTubers manufacture drama all the time to try and get the support and attention a rivalry brings. These two didn't have to manufacture anything. Sure. I'd contend that they belong in a similar category to people who organize gallery exhibitions or edit books. They aren't producing the content themselves, but they play an important role in bring it to the viewer.

That said, these days I'm not sure that the old categories hold up any longer either. Artists have had studio apprentices who did the bulk of the actual work since Michelangelo. Warhol did little other than sign 'his' artworks. And Damien Hurst pays artisans to create his sharks in formaldehyde/stuffed sheep/spot paintings. Like those who came before him, he might not touch the work at all, other than to sign it.

Much the same thing is true of music. Since the rise of hiphop, a pile of stuff has been dependent on 'musicians' sampling other people's work to create something new. Take the very founding record of the genre some forty years ago -- Rapper's Delight -- would it have sold anything at all without sampling Chic's Good Times bassline? Early Beastie Boys and DeLaSoul were all so sample heavy that they'd never be released today.

I think the boundaries between these creative endeavours are much more porous than people like to believe.
