I wish we knew more about this to be honest. Like, how long did this program last? I'm assuming at least a couple months. She says it was 'through her public school' but that's totally meaningless- Greenwich High School does a great job of streaming posh white kids away from the poors- I bet they have plenty of extra cost extracurriculars- what was the actual up front cost for this?
I'm guessing at least $10k, maybe a little more? It probably sounded like a good idea to Tay Tay's parents at the time- maybe they could get their little princess set up with the son of some Swiss financier, a scion of a German industrial family who got kicked out of the Gymnasium for doing coke and fighting, or the heir to a child trafficking fortune from Dubai.
Sadly, for them and the world, that investment failed to pay off, and now she has to pretend to be a journalist.

Firing her is considered a victory for the chuds and Natzees so they won’t fire her. She will keep getting shuffled around until she finds a new employer. It’s pretty common with executives and those who are well connected. Taylor continues to fail upward.

Her lying has gotten to the point where it is affecting the reputation of WaPo and opening them up to lawsuits, so they finally decided it was time to have someone actually check her articles before putting them out to print.
Having your articles checked for accuracy and overseen by an editor before seeing publication? What is this? The Stone Age?

I mean damn, it's SOP at pretty much any professional workplace I've ever worked at or heard of. Maybe not necessarily an editor, but if you're preparing a press release that is going to be subject to public scrutiny, then your employers usually want someone that's not you (and preferably someone of higher rank that's more 'in-the-know' about all of the top-level political chess bullshit going on behind the scenes in your typical corporation) to look over your words to make sure you're not going to embarrass anyone.
It's actually more suspicious that Taylor (and WaPo) apparently didn't have something like this set up.

She says "public school" but she elides that it's Greenwich High School in Greenwich, CT which is effectively a suburb for millionaire NYCers. The school has a 98% graduation rate with its non low-income students, which is 80% of the student body, a whopping 85% go onto college. She didn't even live in the "poor" part of Greenwich, CT but the more affluent Old Greenwich. Greenwich itself is the wealthiest place in CT, the wealthiest state in the country.
A current student does not give the school perfect marks however:

This is a similar thing that happened to her at the NYT, she was hired in a big blaze of publicity, then almost immediately "went on leave" and suddenly wasn't there anymore. They seem to have been better at keeping her issues under wraps (or she's getting worse).

I can imagine some WaPo editor’s pissed off because he actually has to fact check some cunt’s articles instead of rubber stamping them in between playing with his asshole.
