One of those lads from rdrama told me to post their weaponized autism (A) here
How old is Taylor Lorenz, really? (aka Fortune fucked up and she was too old to be named one of their "40 Under 40"!)
Apologies for yet another post about our favorite journalist. But redactor0
pointed something out that I think is really funny: She's been lying about her age for the past half decade!
There's an
entire notes section on her Wikipedia page dedicated to this shit.
- Fortune said she was 35 in 2020 = about 37 today. [1]
- The New York Times says she's 31 in 2018 = about 35 today. [2]
- CBS News calls her 30 back in 2016 = about 36 today [3]
So how old is she really? Well,
here she is bitching at the
Free Beacon for
saying she's 37. IMO, not a bad guess on the Beacon's part given the above numbers.
Anyway, she claims in that tweet to be . . . Wait for it . . .
43.
Holy fuck.
Let that sink in. That's more than half a fucking decade off from her previously stated ages. One chud
noticed this and
was promptly blocked by our queen.
EDIT: ALSO HOLD THE FUCK UP ONE MINUTE.
If she's 43 today, how the hell was she under 40 for Fortune's "40 Under 40" in 2020?
Did she lie about her eligibility in order to accept this award?
EDIT 2: AUTISM
Per
Fortune’s eligibility criteria, nominees
must be under 40 years old as of Sept. 1 the year of the award.
[Archive] Therefore, it follows that someone who is a member of the 2020 "40 Under 40" class would need to be under 40 years old as of Sept. 1, 2020.
In this tweet, posted March 31, 2022, Taylor Lorenz says she is 43 years old.
[Archive] Just about every source pegs her birthday as October 21. So if we believe Taylor’s tweet (and why not?), her birthday must be Oct. 21, 1978.
So how old would Taylor be by
Fortune’s deadline for the 2020 class of “40 Under 40” nominees?
41 years, 10 months and 11 days.
BUT WAIT! Let’s say the deadline was actually a whole year earlier. She’s still too fucking old at 40 years, 10 months and 11 days.
I hereby call on Fortune to rescind Lorenz’s recognition as part of the "40 Under 40" class of 2020.
