Holy shit, next year Yugioh Abridged is going to be twenty years old. Where the fuck did the time go? And I just checked, looks like Martin hasn't made a new video since April 2024. And he hasn't even reached the final arc where they go back in time and see the origins of everything. Guess that patreon promise to get episodes out more frequently was a lie.

And yeah, I like HUA, I think because Taka had more control and was able to make it more fun.

TFS is a part of a major problem with content creators who cover niche interests like anime and comic books, at some point they all decided they needed to mock their own hobby endlessly. It’s like they’re ashamed to like what they like and are trying to preemptively make fun of it as if to take that ability away from outsiders.

For best experience, watch the series up until release restraint 0, then go watch a Fedora tipping video from 2014 YouTube. Faster experience without the detriment to Hellsing Ultimate itself.

In the commentary he says that it was, the entire thing was a mockery of people who didn't vote in the 2016 election, which he blames on Trump winning. So Cell is Trump, Gohan is the American people who didn't vote for mommy Hilary.

It's funny in those commentaries they constantly say that they didn't think they were making something better than the source material. But they outright admitted that the main reason they stopped was because they thought Cell was a better ending that the one in the original series and so decided to cap things there.

Oh hey, they finally put the new HFIL episode out... meh. I was right, they were holding it back for Halloween, and they didn't even really do anything much with it. Not worth the almost 1 year wait. They should have put another one out in between so this could be episode 13 as part of the horror theme.

Absolute nothing-burger of an episode. Animation looked super lazy at parts for an episode that took over a year to come out (The Ginyu force, especially Recoome, glides across the floor when they start walking away, and Guldo raising his arms and taking off his head has whopping 4 frames of animation. Probably more I didn't notice, but good God I really have to emphasize that last part look at Guldo at 7:20 how did this make it into the final cut??)

Chuckled literally once at the part where Frieza made a racist outfit. I don't know if my view of TFS' content has gone sour because of the realization that they're just shitty people, or if their comedic talent has really dried up this much, probably a mix of both.

We'll see if they keep their word about taking over a year off so they can start releasing episodes more frequently (It's all but guaranteed they won't)
