The original series never finished and actually ended on a cliffhanger so honestly I'd rather someone shoved money at the original creator and got her to finish it with the original crew. But I think part of the reason it didn't finish was she got a real job, I could see how SMA might not look good on a resume.

Some guys tried to do a version I kinda liked, which had its own set of jokes, though that one sadly died twice over [first on YouTube, then on Vimeo]. Can't post a link to them due to that.

I assume the SMA group just drifted apart over time.

Stream of consciousness writing is a great way to put it. There's really not many jokes and just "Hey what happens is kind of stupid, laugh". It's really forced. I just don't think Sailor Moon lends itself to this kind of schtick. I'm a glutton for torture and punishment though. The first episodes of these always suck. Even the AI ones. Let's see if it picks up in Part 2. It won't. But it'll be funnier to to have it confirmed.

Also, SURELY there are mediocre 90s anime they could tackle. Ones that may even benefit from being "abridged".
Or even 00s anime. Surely. Come on.
 
I’m surprised they haven’t tried to make Ghost Stories Abridged and make it “for the modern audience” and as politically correct as possible.

Considering the original Dub, anything else would already be a failure, but knowing these fucktards I wouldn’t be surprised.

Considering you'll be waiting until next year for another episode, does it really matter if they just don't finish anything? You'll forget what they've already put out anyways,

There is a trend of new parodies making the plot something else entirely.
Very preferable to the TFS method of just retelling the same story but failing to make it funny and better.
 
Seeing news about Team4star and an abridged series, is like seeing news about a Skyrim release.
You start to panic and keep wondering what year it is.
 
Honestly, the most insulting part of this Sailor Moon Abridged is the fact that TFS is starting a new abridged series while making excuses for not completing DBZA.

TFS really committed seppuku by leaving DBZA incomplete. It makes no sense that we got the excuse that they weren't up to the task anymore, and then they make all of this other stuff that isn't even good? This Sailor Moon Abridged episode was ... Not funny or entertaining. Just dated AF. The first episode of DBZA has a fucking MySpace joke, and it has aged better than this already outdated video. Yikes!

They have torpedoed themselves into irrelevancy. They could still be releasing Buu Arc episodes, being as popular as ever, and making good money while doing it.
