Just a serial code when paying for software. The only thing we got now is:
- Software download/licence managers
- Subscription based software
- Only online activations
Just give me a serial code, I refuse to pay for these “only online
rent-ware” that has DRM bloat running in the background. The fact that I can’t even have a clean backup installer of said software together with my project archive is unacceptable.
Seething moment about FL Studio:
I realized how cucked everything is when I was
just about to pay for some plugins only to realize you needed internet to activate it while running your DAW. This is why I haven’t bought a single new software (VST plug-in in my case) for years, because I can’t archive anything (legally) with them. I’m stuck with older software that has an offline serial code or just a simple
licence file. I take the archiving of my stuff very seriously which is why I'm so MATI on this.

For updated versions, the offline shit is gone. FUCK!
> muh it’s because of piracy
It’s such a backwards way to “combat piracy”. With this shit, it becomes more logical to actually pirate said software. In order to
debloat the software (optimize it) and to be able to
archive the installer (100% no online activation), you have to go to a sketchy third-party site… that has the software for free.
God I hate iLok, (((Waves))) and Native Instruments so much and I'm seething at the fact that Image-Line (FL studio) removed the
offline licence file, only to replace it with a pseudo "offline" activation "to combat piracy"... at the same time they started adding subscription based sevices where you rent VST's and buy samples through credits, also adding the "cloud song mastering" shit (yes, another AI meme where you got no say in what they do with your stuff).

Image-Line is right behind Adobe and Waves etc, and
you get banned on reddit and on their forum if you ever mention anything related to this. The only reason they got away with this is because a majority of FL Studios user base are niggers. Unfortunately the memes are true, it's really is the future
doctors and engineers rappers DAW of choice. But my God it's so comfy and fast. I make a lot of melodic stuff and no other DAW can beat FL Studio's piano roll and the pattern workflow is really neat. I'm currently looking at Reaper, but I got too many projects so I'm down too deep on this to actually do the switch.
