I bought CAT S22 and it's crap. It developed some issue with keys behaving like they are stuck, and battery life, even if I use it like a dumb phone is still pathetic.

CAT also made a (on highway) truck, which was crap too.I bought CAT S22 and it's crap. It developed some issue with keys behaving like they are stuck, and battery life, even if I use it like a dumb phone is still pathetic.
I just wanted to take a dig at CAT trucks.Your point being?
The masculine urge to privately own heavy duty construction equipmentI had no idea front end loaders could be used to view YouTube. Will any front end loader work, or only specific models?
Would a CAT 980 be sufficient?

I never had issues with the keys, although the battery was always a weak point. But there isnt really any other phone you can easily acquire at a low price if you want a flip phone that also has 4G and can run Android apps, considering the F21 and the like are much worse. Unihertz doesn't make them in the flip form factor.I bought CAT S22 and it's crap. thought so to at first but apparently they were by Bullitt Group, a uk company who were known for rugged phones. This phone was almost certainly outsourced to the absolutely finest Chinese OEM because CAT doesn't actually make phones, either.
Not only that, but the increased technology has had enough security issues that it's become possible to hack into cars. I still recall a controlled scenario on the evening news where someone was able to use a laptop to gain access to a vehicle and activate the bakes independently of the driver. Now, the latest concern is people being able to intercept Bluetooth signals from key fobs to make their own remote control.By this point, they are no longer cars but mobile computers, worse than laptops by a mile.
This is definitely head-scratching. For all the talk about stopping distracted driving, auto makers keep adding so many features on cars that are not only distracting, but they turn cars into mobile multimedia centers instead of vehicles intended to transport someone from point A to point B.It's illegal in most states even to talk on a cell phone hands-free. Why is this shit legal?
I still see people using their actual cell phones while driving, illegal or not.In which states are hands-free phone calls illegal?
Practically every new car has Bluetooth and steering wheel buttons for making and ending calls.
This infuriates me as well but they aren't terribly wrong. Samsung Dex for instance can use a wireless bluetooth mouse/keyboard from your phone and connect to a monitor or tablet via HDMI or wirelessly for word processing and browsing. It's similar to having a chromeOS chromebook- but you are limited to browser-based applications.
I see it all the time. Niggercattle can't let go of their phone for one second.I still see people using their actual cell phones while driving, illegal or not.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and I use Dex mode exclusively. I specifically chose Samsung so I could run multiple apps at once in floating windows. This infuriates me as well but they aren't terribly wrong. These zoomers don't use actual apps like true web browsers, games other than candy crush, and they don't care to do anything besides doomscroll and jerk off to porn. To them it doesn't matter.
Using a "smartphone" to surf sucks. Crappy cramped layouts, constantly accidentally "clicking" the wrong things, BS "autocorrect"...But when you are actively advocating for people to ditch one of the most versatile and powerful devices available to us to be soul sucked into a device that is at best a compromise of what a PC can do in favor of whatever the hell smartphones are these days...
I actually was thinking about a setup like that, with the tablet basically being used as light computer for everyday stuff (with mouse and keyboard etc. on a dock) and the capability of taking it with me to the couch/bed etc.. I just couldn't fathom putting that much trust into a locked down android computer. Ended up with a Thinkpad Tablet instead. Not as nice screen-wise and not really mobile at all (the battery is a cruel joke) but at least it's x86 compatible and runs mainline Linux I guess.Galaxy Tab S8
I only have the S8 because I needed Android apps specifically. It is not at all perfect, actually it's just barely good enough.I actually was thinking about a setup like that, with the tablet basically being used as light computer for everyday stuff (with mouse and keyboard etc. on a dock) and the capability of taking it with me to the couch/bed etc.. Funnily, I use every program fullscreen with ratpoison. It feels very distraction-free.
I thought DVI and HDMI were electrically identical, i.e. a converter is entirely passive and just rearranges the pins for a different connector. I guess that requires the actual signal to be compatible and it definitely was at some point, since I used that extensively with consoles and satellite tv.Tech I miss: DVI capable motherboards, graphics cards, and new monitors with the port. I can find BUCKET LOADS of old monitors set up for DVI but not HDMI for 10 bucks at a thrift shop, hell, some motherboards still come with VGA. But poor DVI is absolutely felted. I actually like it too. Pretty good definition, the screws ensure a solid connection, it's not going to get loose on you, etc.
And yes, you can get a converter, or a cable with hdmi to DVI on the ends. But it's not the same as running it natively and we all know it.
