So I know imma sound like a whiny bitch, but my alerts aren't working too well. Whenever I get a quote or a rating it almost never gives me an alert.

This is by design.

Quote alerts should still be 100% functional, rate alerts are currently off.

Everyone would turn them on if it was available.

The feeling you are currently experiencing is called withdrawal.
Symptoms should fade as your tolerance returns to normal following not having your usual rate alert fix for several days.

Besides, forcing you to manually check back on your posts simply to see if other people are validating you might help encourage a quality over quantity approach as you struggle to remember exactly which to check having made 20 posts in the past hour.

Alerts for tagging are 100% functional. Ratings you give and receive are still recorded and viewable on each individual posts. Rate totals per each rating from the profile view are currently disabled.

This may have been posted already, but I've also noticed that the red number near the flag doesn't show up anymore on new alerts, even for quotes and tagging. Is that a bug or intentional? I can still look up if anyone has quoted or tagged me in the alerts page, so it's not a big deal.

edit: alert flag thing still works after all.

Often I am subscribed to a thread but it doesn't give any alerts when there is a post in it. Why is this?
 
I think that this site may be having a reduced amount of activity because nobody feels like using it when they don't get rating alerts
