I get the 503 randomly on clearnet but a reload instantly fixes it. Tried to get the ip but this is all firefox says:

If I hit reload it obviously just reloads the working website. Would that be giving me the correct ip or would it be sending me to another location? Not really sure how this dynamic ip works for a website.

Intermittent 503s via mobile on clearnet.

Not sure how to determine which endpoint it was in mobile - maybe 503 page could report the endpoint that was being used somehow

When I click on a thread title (that has unread posts), I get an "Unable to connect" page with the message "Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at kiwifarmsaaf4t2h7gc3dfc5ojhmqruw2nit3uejrpiagrxeuxiyxcyd.onion."

However, if I click on the page numbers, the thread loads just fine. I also get the error when trying to access threads through notifications. I haven't seen any posts about this, so it might be a me problem.

I am on Debian Bookworm/sid and am using Tor Browser 11.5.4. The console just says, "No response data available for this request" when I try to examine the HTTP request.

Same here, I ended up installing this extension because looking at the code it's obviously not malicious.

I can't visit the farms whatsoever on mobile. Browser and tor browser alike don't work. Apparently they don't support web assembly which I assume is required for the bot check. Speaking of, I have to open the farms in a private tab on desktop because I can't pass the bot check in a normal instance

Doesn’t that footer need updating? both those ’primary’ surface web domains are dead and .net is listed as inactive

tor browser, desktop, onion domain

using a clickable link to a thread (featured content, recent posts, any kf link in community happenings) gives me either 301 Moved Permanently or 303 See Other, which redirects me to https://kiwifarms*.onion instead of http://kiwifarms*.onion, giving me an "unable to connect" error
...
this is probably the same issue, replace https:// with http:// in address bar as a workaround

Yes, you need a modern browser with WASM support to pass the botcheck.

I'm not sure if just installing something like Microsoft Edge or anything that supports WASM and is available on your phone works. Brave works on a variety of phones too. I'd in general suggest using a separate browser for the Farms and only the Farms and only opening it with a VPN. If you're especially paranoid pick a browser that looks markedly different to avoid wrong browser moments.

I also think it's some sort of proof of work thing so the initial bot check could just be really slow on an old phone.

There's a weird "tearing" issue with GIF uploads. The only reliable way I have found to remedy it is to specifically not use thumbnails. (I've resized GIFs to conform to thumbnail size when this happens) Not a big issue but figured it's better to document than not.
I made a BB-8 spoof in the Anna O'Brien thread and tried to upload an animated GIF. I noticed the issue and a similar thing has happened because of bad frames on my part in the past. I've checked and re-checked to make sure that is not the case here. Reproduced below:
BESE-600+.gif
In case nothing looks wrong on your side: the circle is rotating 18 degrees every frame for 5 frames. In one or more of them most of her otherwise-static head mostly disappears. Her front elbow remains static as intended. Specifics and what I've tried:
  • Clearing cache, refreshing, re-exporting, and re-uploading.
  • The "Attach Files" button below the text box does not have an apparent workaround.
  • The "Insert Image" button will work initially with the full-sized GIF it automatically inserts. The animated thumbnail with the "Insert..." and trash can is the first indication of this problem. This appears to even work if you mess up, delete the errant one, and re-upload without refreshing.
  • Deleting the GIF and then trying to insert it as a thumbnail or full-sized image will always have the issue.

This is what the tor browser app served as, but it doesn't support web assembly
