Feedback Technical Grievances

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I don't mind it being shown, I don't need to hide it, it's actually kind of nice. I'm looking to prevent it from being downloaded in the first place in order to save bandwidth (read: cut down on load times when browsing on Tor).

Thanks for the link but it's not much of a permanent solution. I suppose I could block that particular file from downloading somehow with an adblocker but the banner is going to be changed back to the regular one after the holidays and I couldn't find the link anywhere with Ctrl-F while in inspect element; I wanted to try to block the element that displays or a suitable parent it by its ID or class.
If you're on Chrome/Chromium, look into the "Sources" tab. That's where you'll find all the images loaded on the page.

Thanks, that indirectly led me to what I was looking for: in the Network tab I found out the image was being loaded by the stylesheet which is why I couldn't find it in the Elements tab. I ended up blocking downloading anything from the entire backgrounds folder after I realised I could a) use a wildcard in adblock filters so I don't have to rewrite the rule every time Nool changes the background, and b) have the filter apply to all domains so it works on both the clearnet and onion (and also potentially breaking any other sites that use the same directory structure):
Code:
/styles/custom/backgrounds/*

I think clearnet might've died again. Pages won't load and SneedChat's lost connection on normal browser. Tor still seems to be working though.

I can no longer access the site via T-Mobile in the USA. It seems to work fine on other ISP's and TOR.
I wonder if the problem I'm having is related to yours. I'm fairly certain my ISP isn't some kind of subsidiary of T-Mobile, but they might be using similar backbones.

.net is yielding a "page could not be loaded" error, though it's still available via tor.
madattheinternet.com is also yielding a "this site cannot be reached" error.

edit: .net is no longer loading past the log in screen on tor; it now diverts to the .onion log in.

It’s something else. I can access kiwifarms.net fine from my phone, but my home internet refuses to load the site, regardless of computer or browser used.
It times out the connection and the only thing I can see using inspect element is a failed get request with the message being “NS_BINDING_ABORTED”, which appears to happen if the request is forced to quit loading somehow, but I’ll admit I don’t know much about it. Might be the ISP blocking outgoing requests to KF?

You know, I never thought to check my phone.

But now that you brought it up and gave me the idea to check it, my home Wi-Fi doesn't seem like it's able to pick up the Farms, but it's loading up just fine when I switch my phone over to data.

I'm just getting a general connection timeout error at that, so it does seem to be ISP-based. Again, I'm wondering if each of our respective ISPs are using some kind of similar backend. It seems strange that they'd suddenly block KF out of the blue like this.

I can only access Kiwi Farms on Tor as of half an hour ago. Are we being DDoSed, again?

These troons are neglecting their dilating regimen if they are wasting their time with pointless DDoS attacks.

I'm also having issues with my home connection. Using a VPN set to my state lets me in so I don't think it's any kind of regional outage. I can still connect via aforementioned VPN as well as just through TOR (kiwfarms.net, not the onion link). The site was very slow on mobile (AT&T) but otherwise loaded up without any problems

Any useful analytics we can run to help find where the hiccup is?

I also cannot access the website over home wifi without Tor, however my phone is fine and I have T-Mobile. I also can't connect to lolcow.farm on either device. This is probably just a coincidence since lolcow is poorly run, but I bring it up because if this is some kind of tranny-lead attack or ISP fuckery they have also been named as targets and perhaps there may be some connection.

Also ED and EDF are down. Not conclusive of anything since both those sites are semi-unreliable, but conceivably interesting.

Haven't been able to get into clearnet for ~24 hours. On Tor now.

Looking at my traceroute, it's blackholed on Centurylink/Qwest's end. Dies after 1 hop.

Tried running a traceroute as well. I'll just give a brief breakdown as I'm unsure about two addresses listed and I'd like to avoid powerleveling.

First hop hits my router.
Second hop times out.
Third and fourth hops hit two private, IANA-reserved addresses that I can't glean much information about (these are the two I'm unsure about showing directly).
Every other hop after that times out, although I only ran mine for about 10 hops total.

While writing a post on an android phone random empty space will be added to the post for seemingly no reason, making editing posts basically impossible
I had the same issue you had, specifically with the Samsung Keyboard when I upgraded my Fold 3 to Android 13. @thyme, I recommend switching to Gboard and declining to share usage statistics in advanced settings, in the meantime. The only major downside is that the clipboard is not as optimal compared to Samsung's.

This is what I’m seeing. It’s interesting, because aren’t blocked sites usually given some kind of splash screen, instead of just dropping the outbound request?

No, because that would invite people to complain. This way it just looks like it's down. But to anyone that knows how this shit works, that single hop means they're blackholeing all the traffic. If it was an outage, it would at least go around Centurylink's internal network.

I'm sure if I enabled the built in Internet Security shit on my modem it might have a popup telling me it's a naughty website and Corporate doesn't want me going to it.

The worst thing about this is if I tried to complain, they'd shunt me over to the most brain dead untouchable worthless fucking pajeets in the history of ever, and they would give me the run around for 3-6 hours before hanging up on me or declaring that I need my modem replaced or a service call. Their bullshit is hidden behind a shield of incompetent curry munching street shitting fucks.

But all that is a moot point because I'm actually blacklisted from their website (it's probably just down):
