Feedback Technical Grievances

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I'm using an outdated version of firefox, is that why I'm not having the same issues as everyone else?

I think tor has deteriorated quite badly in usability since I started using it for the site a few months ago. I need to restart several times before I get a connection stable enough to log in, and if too much traffic happens then I get locked out for an hour plus, unless i once again restart the browser for a new circuit (the 'new circuit' button rarely does anything). Additionally I think sneedchat greatly exacerbates this somehow because if I load the homepage it almost always goes into the hour+ lockout so I have resorted to bookmarking the subforums I want and loading them directly.

I will likely resort to some VPN but I wanted to point this out because this is massively worse than I remember it being in january so it seems like the troons may be figuring out how to degrade tor service to the site somehow (not that I really grasp how that would be done).

It doesn't seem like a bitrate thing because I can watch a youtube video, and then as soon as I so much as allow sneedchat to load for a fraction of a second its GG.

Tor has many enemies and I doubt they are all troons. This is probably just the usual sporadic DDoS the whole network suffers constantly. The glowies will probably fix it since they use it themselves.

I can't see dates for shit. I can just see later_today_at_x. This only happens on my desktop though. Not on my phone.

Archive.org Wayback machine fortunately doesn't have .st on the exclude blacklist, unfortunately the DDoS Kiwi Flare prevents anything from actually being archived.

Pretty critical to fix this.

Possibly whitelist IP ranges if archive.org has that.

Archive.org are faggots that agreed to remove stuff from their archives.

Apologies if this is a known issue, but following this link appears to load the error page with a different user's session and/or user info because I see Stephen Hawking's pfp, the "your profile" link goes to his profile and I get the wrong number of notifications.

Also, I get this error on the current page:
The active user has changed. Reload the page for the latest version.

I got this same type of error years later when trying to open the attachment links here (from a quoted post that was deleted). I was about to post it in Talk to Staff but searched here first. Luckily, it does not allow you to read somebody else's alerts, just the unread number (12). Taking any action (such as clicking the alerts button) changes you back to the active user, but I was able to reproduce this for a few minutes until it stopped happening.

I won't post the user I hijacked... maybe this allows you to geolocate them.
