I cannot connect to the TOR hidden service, keep getting "Onion site not found". Other sites work normally. I've tried changing circuits.

More testing today. Left my tab open all night and it grew quite a bit.
I enabled maximum memory savings in Brave to see if it could recover the used RAM when it detects the tab going inactive.
Navigated to a new page to see if it would reduce memory usage, but it didn't do much.

The tab never went to sleep when on the homepage, likely because chat is constantly updating. Moving to a new page and trying to get the tab to go inactive and sleep did not work either. Whatever is happening seems to follow the session when navigating to new pages on the Farms. Navigating to a different website (google.com) cleared the high RAM usage instantly.

yea i know it's a memory leak but i don't know why. what needs to be purged and why does it only affect chromium. that's the question i am asking be tested. the memory issue was diagnosed years ago.

This is something that happening since last night. I was finally able to do the write-up I was waiting to do after I could upload videos again.
I went to check if everything was working after I got it posted, and all the videos except one that's like 5 seconds long or so are doing this when I play them.
They will play, and you can see them loading for ahead of time for anywhere around 10-30 seconds. Then this error message comes up, and they stop loading.
Last night I opened the browser console to see if anything in particular stuck out. I do think I saw the error message where it was happening about a get request. But it really didn't give me anything more useful to add.
I'm wondering if I delete, and reupload the videos. If that would solve whatever this is. Or if it's something else. The "network error" makes me think that's not the case though.
I waited until today to bring it up to see if it went away on it's own, or if anything change.
Edit: just watched the YouTube section of the stream. And I see that it's for sure not just me.

I have enough RAM in my PC that it doesn't bother me, plus I tend to actually use genchat. Mostly I wanted to see if there was anything specifically in the browser I could adjust and stop the leak since it's only an issue on Chromium based browsers. I tried using devtools to see if I can find anything strange but so far the only difference between my Firefox and my Brave sessions is Brave tends to get "Failed to load resource: net::ERR_HTTP2_PROTOCOL_ERROR uploads.kiwifarms.st/data/avatars/m/166/166358.jpg?1756083791:1" errors that I am not seeing on Firefox.
But yeah, uBlock filter seems like the best solution for people who are annoyed by chat.

Regarding sneedchat, does this actually work for anyone else? It works to hide chat from the front page for me, posting here to let others know in case they want that option.

All the highlights are wiped from USPG2 for me, only highlighted post being https://kiwifarms.st/threads/us-politics-general-2.210076/page-8332#post-22674272 which is an hour old at the time of this post. Can't browse it like this, pls fix.

Is all of this happening from the recent changes? Or is it something else. I feel like right around the time the changes happened. Is when everything broke for me. But it could just be a coincidence. And it was other stuff happening, at the same time. Something else I've noticed started. Is some of the smilies don't show up. At least not on some browsers. Like the felted one

It works cosmetically, but I still have network activity in the background showing the chat is still running, but hidden. That was my main concern, was having the chat running and using resources in the background. Really nice that It's an option though.

Was just looking more into it, network stopped. I was confusing the front page lazy loading avatars as the chat still running.

/chat/ still works, and now the site can be properly static when not being used. Thanks!

Nigger how are you so miserable running this site? It's not like a real job where you put all this work in and no one gives a shit. Like 90% of the users here suck you off daily. Cheer up man...As of Oct 4 I am still being tortured by filesystems. If you encounter errors, they are temporary. I am doing my best but computers are miserable. If you are considering a job in IT please just go into welding or something. There is no price worth sitting here arguing with AI about file compaction. It's all play pretend. None of this is real. It's photons on a platter. It means nothing. If I knew how to weld I'd take a blowtorch and cut my laptop in fucking half. Indians are going to take your job anyways.
