Could they please just show footage of a character sidestepping or side walking? Show Kazuya’s mist step? Or maybe some tracking move hitting someone mid-side walk? It’s a fucking 3d game and nothing that is purely 3d oriented has been shown, it’s just Street Fighter shit
During the panel last weekend after TWT NA finals Harada mentioned there will be sidestepping, but they didn't want to show it off yet because the stages in other angles doesn't look good.

I'll post timestamp when I can find it.

In regards to the question on why the writing took such a massive shit, it's because when Harada took over the driver's seat he drove the car towards the cliff. Tekken 5 was in that regard the beginning of the end. Hence how you end up with Jin going from being justifiably emo to going full CrawlingInMySkin.mp3 and starting World War III in order to fight a giant chicken. The less said about the other whacky anime bullshit the better...

I would highly recommend watching this spergathon series on Tekken if you want the details, which I believe is well done.

Yeah yeah yeah. Story and whatnot.

Now the real meat: gameplay. This ain't tekken. Tekken doesn't need meter what is Harada smoking? Making tekken more interesting for the spectators? Nigga you're watching someone else play a videogame. Play it yourself. Make the game for the PLAYER. They think that by adding a ton of little cinematics and slowdown it will make the game more watchable?

It really is Tekken with V-trigger.

Guarentee this is for the zoomers that watch esports and streamers on twitch that play these games. if something exciting isn't happening every 5 seconds, their ADHD will kick in and get bored of it quickly.

They've been copying street fighter's homework since 4. This is them probably trying to one-up the upcoming SF6's flashy paint splotches with more of their own flashy shit.

That was a huge reason I hated SF6.

I loathe the high octane bullshit of modern fighting games with a vengeance. Even MK does that bullshit too.
From what I've seen so far, the game just looks ugly with far too much particle effect BS going on. Bring back the simplicity of the first three games.
Hell even bring back the simplicity of the PS2 games. I've really tried to give the 6-8 games a chance but I don't think I can do it anymore. I've already divorced myself from SF for similar reasons.

The guys behind Fighting EX Layer are helping out with the netcode for Tekken
Arika updated their 2D fighting game Fighting EX Layer ( 2018 ) with a rollback netcode enhancement a couple years after the game's PC launch, with positive results overall. It's not known to what extent they'll be helping out with TEKKEN 7's and TEKKEN 8's online structure moving forward, but the recent press release by Arika provides all the known details so far. Basically, Bandai Namco will continue to focus on character and game balance in TEKKEN, with Arika now working on "software improvements, bug fixes, and usability improvements for online matches".

I'm holding out hope that 8's ost will be better than 7's was.
Until further notice I'm optimistic in regards of the OST since I actually liked the theme they used in the first trailer.
Which BTW is a remix of the hidden characters theme (and Julia's theme in the remixed PS1 version) from the third game.

Tekken 3 was peak 90s musical kino.

Dunno why they decided to make him look so much older than Tekken 7.

You notice how smooth his face is in devil form? Completely wrinkle free. And yeah, I noticed he looks significantly aged despite the Tekken timeline being ridiculously compressed.
Yeah I noticed that too with his Devil form.

I think it's Tekken 3 to now is like inside of a year or something ridiculously short.

If they were smart, they'd explain it as a side effect of the cloning process.

They're not smart though.

I forgot he even was a clone. I would imagine Heihachi will end up coming back the same way eventually.

Personally I think the better question is why they didn't do it before. Kazuya is IIRC 49.

I always assumed that Kazuya is the OG Kazuya from the first two games who G-Corp (somewhat) managed to stitch up after fishing him out of the volcano.
