Play the first three Tekkens and then play Tekken Tag before diving in further.I've haven't played any Tekken but after see the trailer's for 8 and the characters I'd decided to give Bloodline a watch and I'm kinda got a hankering to play the games. T7 is on sale for steam for 5 bucks, is there anything any veterans can tell the to watch our for before I dive head first?
Even in 2023, Harada-san has not changed one bit. If anything, I will give some credit and say that at least this new Tekken will not be like Dead or Alive 6.
At least play Tekken 3 where it gets more juggle heavy (T2 had combos, but nothing like 3 and beyond),; then 6 (5 is better, but 6 is more of a recent fighter) and Tag 2. If you liked what you played, then mess around with 7, but seeing the Nina changes with the Bayonetta shit expect some characters coming from 7 to get some drastic changes in 8. The first three games are a good start, but with the game being juggle heavy you're better off starting with 3.Play the first three Tekkens and then play Tekken Tag before diving in further.
Playing tekken 1 now and getting my ass handed to me. Welp, I've got a long way to go.Play the first three Tekkens and then play Tekken Tag before diving in further.
Learn the 10-string combos for each character. Also go for the jumping pounce attacks ala Virtua Fighter. Finally, Grab any chance you get, even if it's the basic one.Playing tekken 1 now and getting my ass handed to me. Welp, I've got a long way to go.
If its really for 5 bucks definitely buy it, its probably the easiest tekken to find matches in since is the newest. I'm not like a super pro or anything at Tekken, what I consider the pinacle of my time with the games is getting Armor King and Lei to Yaksa so its not like I'm the best to give advice about the games, but I would argue that the best way to enjoy them is to play whatever character you want.I've haven't played any Tekken but after see the trailer's for 8 and the characters I'd decided to give Bloodline a watch and I'm kinda got a hankering to play the games. Learn basic bread and butter moves you can spam while you learn about dashing, side stepping, and throw escapes. Problem is throw escapes in older games are drastically different compared to 7 where it's a lot easier to get out of throws and chains (you need to know how to get out of escapes and chains or every King/Marduk/Williams sister will make you their bitch if they want to flex). This is why I suggested 3 because it lines up with the recent games than 1 and 2 (1 and 2 had combos, but they were mostly combos of doom only a few characters had. 3 really kicks off juggles with Tag 1). If you get into the more recent games, Aris has good tutorials on the basics with Avoid the Puddle.Learn the 10-string combos for each character. Players have hit finals with Bears and even worse characters like Chloe and Gigas (Gigas and Chloe are pure garbage). A Yoshimitsu player can do well if he's unpredictable, but that's hard to do (This was Zafina's case in Tekken 6 until they fixed her in Tag 2 and 7).If its really for 5 bucks definitely buy it, its probably the easiest tekken to find matches in since is the newest. I feel like the tierlist whoring is for people who want to go to tournaments and just dive head first into the autism but if you're like me who wants to learn a few characters and get to a specific rank and play with your friends then really you can play with whoever you want, even with some character that's egregiously bad like the bears and still you could probably make them work agaisnt people who don't know them.
damn son. if kid me could beat the npcs on normal difficulty, you should have no issues. maybe we old bucks are just build different.Playing tekken 1 now and getting my ass handed to me. Welp, I've got a long way to go.
I'll get the hang of it. Finnished Kazuya's and Paul's playthrough. I've had more trouble on the second to last fights than the fights with Hiehachi.damn son. if kid me could beat the npcs on normal difficulty, you should have no issues. maybe we old bucks are just build different.
If you choose to main a high execution character (Mishimas, Bryan, etc.) try to balance it by playing a less demanding character, it made the game a bit more enjoyable for me back in the day. Oh, and if you want to practice your throw break reflexes, there used to be this app "Boxer's throw break trainer" on the Android store.I've haven't played any Tekken but after see the trailer's for 8 and the characters I'd decided to give Bloodline a watch and I'm kinda got a hankering to play the games. Holy fuck that announcer is complete cancer.Sorry for double-posting but I can't edit my post.
Claudio Trailer is out
Good lord that announcer is killing me quickly.
Now, it's been ages since I've played as him in Tekken 7 but is it just me or does it look like he took some inspiration from Noctis?
