Fighting games ironically have one of the most gullible communities when it comes to getting suckered out of their money. The games are already very stripped for content on average, and they'll happily pay for all the season passes and all the DLC be it maps, modes, characters or costumes when they are all things that other games get as part of the original product. Fighting games NEED costumes and colours to add variety, and nowadays the FGC forks over cash for whatever tablescraps are sharted onto their plate.

I like me my fighting games, but I'd be lying if I said the games are good value for money outside "ultimate editions".

EDIT: i bought a key for 50 bucks (because i was late as shit) and apparently they give out the Paul Phoenix avatar set. Just pointing it out there.

...why? That's like saying "I NEED my chess pieces to be silver-plated". I don't see why anyone ever NEEDS cosmetic DLC, unless the game is kind of crap in the first place and you constantly need new tchotchkes to maintain any interest.

They'll probably bar her from SF6 for new "fresh" DLC faces that no one asked for like Ed's ho for wave two.

We already got Ed so might as well add more undesirables.

Which I am happy for. I don't want to see Sakura ruined by the REngine.

What I was trying to say is that fighters generally have dick-all in the way of content, and a lot of the stuff they charge you for should be part of the base product given how little you start with. You can extrapolate that down and say that they only need some balanced characters and a VS mode, which is true in a sense, but to me it feels like fighting games are especially overcharged where doodling around with a shader for 10 minutes can be sold for $5 a pop.

I miss days like GGACR+ where you got a wealth of characters alongside a story/arcade mode that wasn't 90% movies, with different paths and multiple endings based on how well you did, a Survival Mode, a Mission Mode that wasn't purely tutorial-based. a whole book's worth of unlockable art, and not a single price tag on the colour range to be seen. Now you just get afterthoughts like Extreme Battle for SF6 - a dead mode that no-one plays, is not updated or incentivised and likely never will be. A wasted effort.

They have somewhat interesting ideas, but choose not to come full circle and play them ambiguously until character usage and plain time decide which canon is more popular:

i played until chapter 8 in the story so far, have some autism spoilers:

Notable shit: Leo is pronounced in the masculine form so i guess we throw the Eleonore name out of the window.
Kazuya brings Azazel back to life and kills it to gain its power.
WITH THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP will Claudio sacrifice himself while giving super devil Kazuya a short exorcism with his fucking arrow and dies
I cringe'd the entire segments where reina called Jin "Jin-Senpai"
I also got more strokes than Cooking with Jack and i wanna hang myself now, good night frens

That's my biggest gripe as well.

I am an autist who is interested in stories of fighting games. Retarded, I know but I can't help it. So that Tekken 8 is such bollucks is really just ugh.

And the constant bait and switches and retcons and characters meandering and stagnating and whatnot kinda is disheartening.

Which is why everything feels like it's something they pull out of their asses.

My take on this would be: if a created character only has a handful of moves instead of 300 to pick from, it might be easy to wreck him. but yeah since namco bandai also made SC it should be possible to implement it.

- I did and the worst part is that I'm not even ashamed of that.

- God help me, I did.

Was the final fight peak anime kino?
- With a capital Special K!

Did the writing fuck up my chromosome count?
- No. Watching anime for over two decades already did that.

nah, its because Tekken is a EVO sports fag fighting game and there are proportions/hitbox/size autism in esports fags, create a character would be fucked that if they implement it
