Question. TTT2 nearly killed Tekken, then Tekken 7 revived it despite its issues, so we can blame Tekken 7 and 8 on TTT2?
Pretty much yeah, but Tekken's been going down the shitter since 6, I personally never liked the bound combo system they introduced. I do sweep for TTT2 because I like it but I also am aware of its glaring issues, especially since I played a non-standard team (read: no Mishimas or clones). Tag 2 was hard as balls, knowledge checks everywhere, if you played a non-standard team you were boned when it came to figuring out tag combos and were basically on your own. 7 and 8 went in the opposite direction and overcorrected so that even retards can play. Those fucking Pakis are winning tournaments but they can't even do a Korean backdash lmao, nor do you even need to anymore given how crippled the fucking movement is in nuTekken.

Harada said once that selling dlc chars would be like selling chess pieces separately. How far the mighty have fallen... They have lambos now, though.

Tekken 8... I think it's just too difficult due to the corpofuckery to simply make good games any more. Without writing a novel about this, we got Tekken 3 through 5: Dark Resurrection in the span of 8 years. We got Tekken 7 in 2016 and now we got Tekken 8 and they both kinda sucked. I think with corpo "Due process" it's pretty much impossible to get a good game made any more.

It's all for profit and massively focus tested and polled now so if your mains are out because impopular, you just gotta deal with it. And if the corpo overlords decide everyone's gonna eat their Akuma death combos and enjoy it for eight years, you're also dealing with that. If the game needs extra sales prepare to be advertised to or just sold P2W stuff that'll later get kneecapped. It all just feels very scummy and not good.

And I've thought too that the insane paki dickriding when the dudes literally sit there pushing buttons and forcing 50-50s is a little much. But it does exemplify how idiotified the game's becoming. In most situations, that is optimal play, and that just sucks. Tekken used to be THE movement fighter. Now we're wheelchair accessible Virtua Fighter. It should be best player usually wins, not anyone can win.

The Virtua Fighter comparison is apt, when talking with good VF players and pros all they ever talk about is 50/50 mixups (or "nitaku" since even the Western VF community wants to feel smart for using the Japanese name for it) but you learn about the game or watch them play and you see that it's anything but, there's always more than just two options, especially if you play a character like Aoi. Also don't believe the memes about Akira needing a PhD to play, that nigga is the most picked character for a reason, his 6P+K+G guard break literally breaks the game because it beats fuzzy and his "super hard" moves are a joke. The 1 frame knee is only good for adding damage to a few specific combos and his guard break string is only good against Taka.

Anyway, compare that to nuTekken where you have people jacking themselves off for how complex the game is but then it's the most grug-brained bullshit you've ever seen, sidestepping optional. There used to be more people doing crazy shit in the older games, now for every EyeMusician you get 10000 people playing exactly the same. And EyeMusician plays Yoshimitsu so it's expected of him to do some crazy shit.

I finally fullfiled a promise I made to myself like 15 years ago and finally learned how to play Lee and he's actually a lot of fun. You know what wasn't fun to learn? EXPLO-I mean Victor. I'm guessing they weren't going to throw all that work they did with Noctis in 7 and just repurposed it to Victor in 8.

Akira's bread and butter moves were much harder to do in the older VF games, and he required effort to be good. Sega lowered the learning curve in Final Showdown, and players found out he's in his own league when you master him (He's in his own tier). The PhD is a meme nowadays, but I still wouldn't call him easy compared to Sarah or Lau. Vanessa, Aoi, Lei Fei, and Goh are still harder to use than Akira, but that depends on the player.

TTT2 rocked. It was better than the original Tekken Tag. Ya wanna try me, Guv'?

And what they did with Kunimitsu, Michelle, Bosconovitch, and both Ogres was decent.

what do you guys think of the new voice actor?
0 story progression.

The new Genmaji Temple stage looks fucking sick and has a banger background track. It's going to rain grandpas in ranked next friday.
Other new noteworthy additions talked about in the TEKKEN Talk include:
- New story DLC is for free (playable characters are Eddy, Lidia and Heihachi so far, so you can try them out first before deciding to shell out your shekels to Harada)
- Changing characters on the main menu (even costumes work)
- Online Practice
- Improved Practice Mode
- NIKE sneakers in the next Battle Pass (LOL)
- Ranked matchmaking tuned. It's better now.

- Labbing now more convenient

Meanwhile, you have to pay 5 bucks for the new "Genmaji Temple" stage. As expected, the Kekken community is NOT happy about this. Especially those who bought the Ultimate Edition (lol) are getting findommed hard by Bamco/Harada.
Pay up, goyim.

They still gonna buy it like good pay pigs. The fighting game community are all cucks.

It's funny. People, let alone such singular "Mr Tekken" characters like Harada (or Yoshi for FFXIV) can straight up fucking lie and in any other industry it'd ruin their reputation. Here? "Haha oh you!" as they cash out all the same. I will however once again make the point that fighting game people don't play anything else. Best case, they play some REmakes or Monster Hunter, but never straight up WoW on the sideline or what have you.

Look at FGC charts on Steam: Literally only 2 games are viable, 3 if you're a Strive troony. We all know CotW will fall flat on its ass and be at 500 players average on day 5. Still, you buy the game and 1-2 season passes each; round it up to $80 a game, times 3. It's peanuts considering how many agonizing hours they'll grind out of a fighting game they hate. Any of all those vtuber-looking waifu simulator JRPGs like Atelier are $70, each. And there's like 12 of those games.

Tekken 8: 15k
Street fighter 6: 30k.

I am enjoying playing Tekken 8 after buying it on sale I have not played Tekken since 3, can't really see myself playing street fighter if I'm honest... Seperating that new arena from the heihachi dlc was so petty though, glad I can't escape greed in video games no longer.

I won't say Tekken 8 is bad though, it works for me and I still recommend the base game during one of the "-43%" sales, I wouldn't condone going further than that though they need to receive that message that current monetisation is counter productive.

i disagree, just pirate it, play the story and play the bots because thats what you will get in online until you're orange/red ranks.

i wish there were better 3D Fighters.
