So it seems the DLC was a mistake.

Compared to everything else like the Tekken Cash Shop, I think the disc-locked content is the least offensive thing Harada has done with this turd (it's still bad). I think this game and Woke Kombat 1 finally made people wake up to the sad state of fighting games and the fgc.

Tekken story stopped giving a shit after Tekken 5.
Lili is cancer.

I think I've been lying to myself on how good, or rather, acceptable Tekken 8 gameplay is. After picking it up for my 2 week Tekken phase I go through from time to time, I realized that 90% of all the matches are more or less something among the lines of launch, carry, activate heat to get to the wall, wall pressure with Heat that can keep you from doing anything, eat the Heat smash if you're unlucky, if you're not dead by this point you probably have something like a pixel of health left and by now, its just trying to guess if your opponent is going to finish you off with a low or mid. Rinse and repeat.

The only way I've found to counter this is to get lucky myself and launch my opponent first. I sometimes even forget Heat even exists but I feel like I have to use the gimmick to even have a chance. At first I thought people were exaggerating about how nerfed the movement was, I thought it was just try hards being try hards since its not like I'm a super pro at Tekken or anything, so I'm not on that level to actually feel the movement nerf but, after a while I sorta realized there really isn't much you can do agaisnt heat specially if you're fighting a character with ridiculous shit like Lydia, with her stances transitioning into other stances while you have to sit there and take a guess. Idk maybe I'm too blackpilled but after a few days of seeing my matches play out in an almost identical fashion, I got more depressed rather than angry, like is this what I payed almost a 100 bucks for? Is this really Tekken 8? Just who presses the Heat button first?

I realized this seeing my first tourney matches. Mirror match, two hugely skilled people.. yet it was just bait a launcher, repeat their one combo, maybe use meter, stop. Repeat. Same character, two people, two different go-to combos, yet just.. over and over. I prefer it to zoners chipping people to death, but even that feels more controlled than this. It's like when you hear someone talk about a basketball match and say "HOLY SHIT IT WAS SO CLOSE!" and it was 90-119, or "LANDSLIDE VICTORY!" and it was 98-80.

On some hand it's less daunting to go "oh okay I just need two launchers labbed to perfection and the rest is poke and bait", the other.. that's it? Bait launch kill repeat. That doesn't even sound fun to master.

The movement nerf started in 7 and it was bad enough that they had to nerf the movement itself but it felt like every character's staple move HAD to also have tracking. There were pros and champs who didn't even know how to do a Korean fucking backdash, especially the case with the Pakis. You know Tekken's completely in the shitter when you are looking back at the days of Tekken 6 with fondness. The fact that nuTekken 7 sold so well just cemented that the series going forward will be warmed over launchfest with the most jewish monetization scheme imaginable from now until the end of time.
All of this due to Kike Murray's retarded philosophy of "why sidestep when you can block." Gee, why the fuck are you designing a 3D fighting game then? Tekken is really just a 2D fighting game series now.

"I hate rich people" shirt. Is that a dig at every villain being wealthy, Law having a money thing with Paul, or a shameless attempt at catering to the troony political nutjob tourists who pretend they play Tekken?

Also glad to see Anna returns. Literally the only character I've any measure of interest in which is my primary issue with fighting games; no character grabs me. Hope they give her an equally unhinged and odd look as in T7.

I’m not too sure honestly. It may have to do with Law seemingly always having financial issues in canon.

That shirt was the first thing I noticed, but even if it's tied to his story, if he hated rich people he wouldn't have worked with Kazuya for money. It's too suspicious, but there's a much more concerning red flag coming in season 2: running in at full crouch. They're buffing a system that's already dividing people. Season 2 is doubling down on all kinds of shit like the monetization and heat system.

These are post World Tour numbers, by the way (as of this shit post). Yes, it will pick up in season 2, but if it's worse than season 1 it'll die like Woke Kombat 1.

The thing about seething and coping about fighting games is that you completely tunnel vision and don't consider just.. playing other games in the genre. Mostly cause there's so few of them. "Oh I gotta learn and deal with this and that and-" go to any other game and that system won't even be there. But neither will the players.

i expected nothing and i'm still disappointed
Its so fucking funny that there's literally a perfect Final Fantasy character for Tekken in Tifa but they just don't go for her for some reason.

She fights with her hands, has a pretty crazy move set that would translate well into a 3d fighter and she's one of the most iconic characters from the damn franchise. She's incredibly popular so I bet she'd move a ton of DLC and well, she's hot as fuck and has huge jugs. Why the hell not go for her? Nothing against Clive but come on, man.

I gotta say I think this season of Tekken 8 DLC has got to be one of the worst in fighting game history, man.

Only thing I can think of is that she would be so popular she would take away attention from the rest of the female cast, and we certainly can't have THAT happening.

Because they want to remind people to buy their latest piece of shit game. they pulled the same crap with Noctis.

Beacuse they want to remind people to buy their latest piece of shit game. they pulled the same crap with Notics.
They could instead try to get people to buy all 3 of that piece of shit FInal Fantasy 7 remake though? I think that'd be just as sensible.

People can jack off to multiple characters, my guy. Yeah Tifa would overshadow every chick on the roster but she would sell so many fuckin DLC passes that it wouldn't matter imo.

.......... i find it very strange that you would immediately go the porn route when that was not what i was implying at all.
Are we observing the same community? Fightan beats all other communities in terms of porn-per-discourse%. There's a fucking swimsuit magazine by hentai artists for SF.
