She's the the one that tried to help her sister, she was the neglected child, and she decided to retire and get married then Nina killed her fiance.
Her life fucking sucks.
To be fair, her fiance was a slimy asshole from G Corp, and Nina Nina tried to save her in her own autistic assassin way. Anna's meant to be a pain the ass to Nina like Jerry is a pain in the ass to Tom.

I would say that dynamic eventually went away and it's much more retarded, serious, and boring now.
Starting a World War was the dumbest idea ever for the series and it resulted in nothing because the dumb demon Egyptian God thing didn't even matter.
This is when the tonal changes really started.

I went back to playing tekken 5 and now I'm seriously considering looking for like a discord or something to see if people still play online, it holds up THAT much.
Hopefully something's out there. Something about 5 & DR really felt right in terms of mechanics, how long combos were, very few things felt all that arcane. I know Tekken retains a lot of things between games but I'm kinda shocked there's not more of a scene for any retro Tekken.

Made it to Orange ranks with Asuka. Lack of matchup knowledge is hurting me the most and can be annoying, but that's Tekken I suppose. Curious to see if the S2 patch drops with the early access or later.

Tekken Talk happened, expect even more offense and 50/50s

Anna debuff makes all her moves do chip, like heat. Ends when she gets hit.
Pretty much no nerfs shown, plenty of buffs.
Patch notes when the patch comes out, hopefully tracking nerfs at the very least.

Only real nice thing is the next pass has no guest characters.

So basically it's gonna be another shit show? I'll believe the "no guest character" statement when I see it.

The Jin nerfs seemed great, and the Yoshi nerfs looked nice as well. Definitely more losses than wins from what we saw though. The worst part to me is the continued homogenization of the cast. Why does every single character need a cancel into stance? Why does King also need to have the ability to play like a rushdown stance monster on top of all the other stuff he's always been good at?

This 1000%. I might have to break my own rule for the first time in like 30 years and play a female character (Anna), because I know how OP she's going to be for like the first 2 weeks, they want everyone to open wide for Namco and buy the character, like they did with Clyde until they eventually brought him down to the level he was supposed to be released at (You'll never convince me that bullshit f1+2 wasn't done absurdly strong by accident).
I thought they weren't going to do the same thing so soon, I thought they were going to ease off the pedal for like the next 2 or 3 characters until they release another Leeroy that everyone is going to have to buy if they want to keep up. But at this point Harada and co have realised a ton of tekkens audience, and it pains me to say this, are niggers and arabs, so they'll buy any cobbled together flashy character just because he/she is cool and sheeeeeit, and Anna and her fucking bazooka (I still can't get over it) fits the bill. I won't be contributing to buying Murrays second Lambo tho, I'll sail the high seas in search of Cream, if you catch my drift.

It is pretty sad that heat could be used to really showcase character strengths or at least feel unique, but the majority of them just feel like adding chip and maybe activating the character's gimmick. At least Kazuya has a unique heat, but he's the only one I remember.

I wouldn't be surprised if Anna got overtuned because Eddy and Lidia were pretty balanced but probably sold less than Heihachi and Clive, so they figured the problem was power rather than Eddy and Lidia being boring to play. Will say that Harada these days gives off the impression that he's mostly just an advisor/presenter at this point, considering things like him being against the new counter/punisher/etc.

As for the patch, my bet is that the major defensive improvement will be about sidestepping, wouldn't be surprised if a majority of the 1500 changes they teased is reducing tracking or whatever. Would also make sense why they didn't show it off since they aren't great at the game, and "you won't get tracked" is way less flashy than the stuff showed in the Tekken talk. Might just be coping of course, might just be 100% mindless offense, will just have to see in a couple of days.

I want to believe that yes, the worst of the patch its what we saw on the Tekken talks and the other supposed 1.5k changes are all heat nerfing and movement buffs that make it play a bit more like at least like Tekken 7, but the last 10, hell, maybe 15 years of gaming has proven that your expectations should be as low as the core of the earth and then move up (or down) from there.

How many times have we seen this? Some game company announces a change that makes the community outright revolt, said game company rolls back 1, maybe 2 changes and then "content creators" aka grifters who make their living out of hyping the game, start condioniting people with the "WE WON! THE DEVS HAVE LISTENED!" and the whole terrible update goes through with very little or superficial changes and the overall quality of the games is reduced and whats even worse, becomes the new normal.

At this point I haven't played ranked in months and probably never will, I'm reduced to playing with like 2 or 3 people max, most of my friends didn't get 8 because they didn't like the direction of the game and I don't even play random player matches anymore, I don't want to develop epilepsy or something with all those stupid, over the top effects that fill the entire screen. I had such high hopes for this game and even had the laughable theory that maybe after 20+ years of bombastic, over the top, flashy, in your face action, they would maybe calm down a little bit and go back to the moody, dark, at times almost horror game atmosphere of Tekken 2 and 4. But no, they quadrupled down on the almost comical levels of action, making the game look like a bargain bin DBZ, put in a battlepass, a cosmetic shop you didn't disclosed at first so you could get all of those high ratings, nerfed the movement and made the game a brainless heat activation, heat burst into 50/50 casino fighting game.

Yea, unfortunately the game is probably eternally going to be braindead offense. Not sure if any of the major fighting games are going into a good direction, with each having its own flavor of braindead. Best hope is that someday some of the old games make it to modern systems, but I'm not holding my breath.

Have not seen much but it looks like I was too optimistic. Looks like new moves and a bunch of buffs, probably the only real defense buff is the sidestep from crouch. Will have to see, but I'm expecting a wacky season. I know some stuff is being rolled back in about a month, but I don't think it will do that much.

It seems that people are not too happy with the patch. Sounds like its Casino Royale, which nobody wanted. Probably will play for a bit and see how it is.

They went full retard with the patch. Buffs for characters that don't need them whatsoever while chars like Lee get gutted. You know they have no fucking clue how Feng works at all when they're buffing his combos and shitting on his pokes. Now they want you to spam the b4 string into stance like every other dumbass instead of actually using your brain to pick people apart. Lars got some cool stuff but it takes a lot of the shine away when you realize they've got everyone playing like him or Dragunov now. Nakatsu's really outdone himself this time, it's somehow even worse than I thought it was gonna be. I've got zero motivation to play this shit now tbh. I'm gonna see if T7 does anything for me at this point.

I have never seen a dev team fuck a game this hard, and i actually kinda liked Tekken 8 before this patch, but all my Tekken friends are ditching this game for either 7, or actually doing Netplay for 5/6. I wanna know what shit these devs were smoking with this update, and if i could have some.
