I want to believe that yes, the worst of the patch its what we saw on the Tekken talks and the other supposed 1.5k changes are all heat nerfing and movement buffs that make it play a bit more like at least like Tekken 7, but the last 10, hell, maybe 15 years of gaming has proven that your expectations should be as low as the core of the earth and then move up (or down) from there.
How many times have we seen this? Some game company announces a change that makes the community outright revolt, said game company rolls back 1, maybe 2 changes and then "content creators" aka grifters who make their living out of hyping the game, start condioniting people with the "WE WON! THE DEVS HAVE LISTENED!" and the whole terrible update goes through with very little or superficial changes and the overall quality of the games is reduced and whats even worse, becomes the new normal.
At this point I haven't played ranked in months and probably never will, I'm reduced to playing with like 2 or 3 people max, most of my friends didn't get 8 because they didn't like the direction of the game and I don't even play random player matches anymore, I don't want to develop epilepsy or something with all those stupid, over the top effects that fill the entire screen. I had such high hopes for this game and even had the laughable theory that maybe after 20+ years of bombastic, over the top, flashy, in your face action, they would maybe calm down a little bit and go back to the moody, dark, at times almost horror game atmosphere of Tekken 2 and 4. But no, they quadrupled down on the almost comical levels of action, making the game look like a bargain bin DBZ, put in a battlepass, a cosmetic shop you didn't disclosed at first so you could get all of those high ratings, nerfed the movement and made the game a brainless heat activation, heat burst into 50/50 casino fighting game.
