Creepiest piece of music I have EVER heard was Vivian Kubrick's score of Full Metal Jacket esp. that scene at the end when they are sweeping that bombed out building and find the sniper girl.

A lot of stuff I like is really unpleasant, partly because it's noisy and weird, and partly because the artists want to give you a bad impression w/ their artwork/titles/etc.

Today's:

Oh god. I actually discovered something called gorenoise a while back, and it was legit the most disturbing thing I’ve encountered in a while.

It’s a genre of music. Apparently, pictures of horrifying birth defects are popular for the cover art. As well as the names of the birth defects for song titles.

I happened upon this genre when I found an album on bandcamp. And when I listened to a song off it, it was deeply unsettling. I dunno how to describe it. What you hear when you are about to be killed at night by a giant deformed baby?

What disturbed me more than the actual songs or cover art though, was imagining the kind of person who would write forty different tracks about forty different birth defects.

And it’s an entire GENRE. So there’s MORE. I noped out though.

Link to the album in question:

I feel that Death Grips, Ho99o9, and Primus are worthy of mentions here based on either their overall dark riffs/beats and themes and/or their delvings into uncanny valley territory.

Out of nowhere, & all manner of fucking character, last night my husband walked up to me, pulled his phone out, & played this song while he sang along. I've never heard it before. And I didn't know its title till just now after a blind keyword search.

The Smiths - Girlfriend In A Coma

:cryblood:

Bro.

So I guess if my KF account just goes radio silent forever soon... ? Like I know I can be a pain in the nuts but like, wow. Lol what in the actual fuck.

@CWCissey : Send Halps?

E: Link inserted. Embedding is broken again, I guess?

Anyone else was scared shitless of Rebuild 2 when browsing Newgrounds as a kid? Just the artstyle of the game itself, the collage of real life photos blended into gory imagery, combined with this soundtrack, I would not have ever dared to go past the main menu. Fucking sucks that Rebuild 3 went with a cartoony artstyle
I have to give it one thing, though. Throughout all the years of the zombie apocalypse trend, this album nails the atmosphere of one the most for me. Grungy, desolate and switches between remembrance and utter fear of the unknown.

That video only has two songs from the album. The real kicker is this track.

Mah nigga! You have top tier taste in zombie flash games. Whenever I had IT class in school I'd either play this one or the Last Stand. Rebuild 2 had some of the most ambient music in any horror flash game. I was bummed by Rebuild 3 too.

My contribution to this thread? How about the soundtrack for Iron Lung? It's the perfect blend of ambient, oppressive, cramped and uncomfortable. Could be late but loading videos on Tor is ass right now so sorry if anybody's already suggested it!

Calming at first until you get to the end.
This eerie sounding song still gives me apocalyptic aura's to this day.
Easily one of the best songs on earth about the sixth seal of revelations.

Richard Dawson - Black Dog in the Sky
Not so much terrifying as really unnerving. I love it but this and the whole album put me right on edge
