I have read a couple different notes on Tumblr saying something very similar. If it is true, the organisations involved have some serious power if they can monitor and kill any and all live news feeds like that. And some serious training and organisational power. On the one hand, having bugfuck insane inbred mass murdering cousin fuckers still out there is absolutely terrifying. On the other, it means that the German Shepherds at Guantanamo Bay are going to get laid very soon.

-FBI sees no indication the plot was from outside the USA or that a terror cell was involved (FBI Director Comey)

They are obligated by law to drop the case after a certain amount of time or if no connections are found. I don't know who put those laws into place, but they are the ones to blame.

Yes, ALL republicans hate gay people. It is known. And I love how people like this keep bringing up homophobia displayed by right-wingers as if that somehow invalidates their disgust for the massacre. Maybe, just maybe, it's possible that, while they don't like LGBT people's sexual preferences, the guys offering prayers and condolences actually don't want them gunned down by the dozens. It's possible to not like someone and still not want them dead.
Also, I fucking hate how these people keep saying "REPUBLICANS ARE LITERALLY JUST AS BAD AS ISIS." Some republicans are intolerant and homophobic and the bills they keep trying to pass are disgusting, but I highly doubt they hate gay people to the point where they'd want to slaughter them. Homophobic right-wingers pass dumb bathroom laws. ISIS throws gay people off of buildings or stones them to death. They aren't comparable.

Honestly, the only way people like this are going to understand the situation at hand is if they get a three-month stay at a "progressive multi-cultural haven" like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, or Libya. I guarantee that after they get treated like utter pigshit for being a woman and/or a non-muslim will change their minds thoroughly.

I'm sick of the politics and agendas. So instead, I did my own candle lit vigil of the victims and wrote down the name and age of each known victim-- about 43 of 50 known casualties.

This is what should really matter right now. I know that people can't help but politicize incidents like these, probably as a way to cope with the fact that they couldn't do anything to prevent it, but... The victims are always just kind of ignored, turned into some kind of statistic to be used in politics.
The victims deserve respect. Let's not talk about the shooter, just for a day, and give attention to the victims and their families. You know, the people who are actually affected by this.
Looking at this list, though, a lot of these people are close to my age. Their lives were just beginning, only to be snuffed out like they were nothing. Just... it's very sad.

I would like to state, even if this very late, that Edward Sotomayor Jr., 34 years old saved his boyfriend by taking the bullets to his back from the shooter. He died saving the one he loved.

I went to the SF candlelight vigil last night thinking it would actually be a vigil for some reason. It was mostly an anti-Trump rally and booing the mayor and #notallMuslims.
Honestly for how much righteous fury the younger generation displays on the internet, it was an incredibly tepid crowd. Lots of people on their phones and mumbling the usual call and responses. The older queers were the only ones who were really emotional and engaged with what was going on.
Edit: almost forgot, at the Capitol some socially stunted tumblrite got a hold of the megaphone and mumbled about how this was a safe space for feelings for like 5 minutes before somebody got it away from him. Was lulzy.

I agree. Both at San San Bernardino and Orlando the police failed to secure a location of interest. I don't understand why it is so hard to have one officer to guard those locations.

I don't think it's so bad to discuss politics at times like this. While it's horrible for everyone involved, you can only mourn strangers so much, and no number of vigils will bring them back. What else can you really do but try to stop anything like this from happening again? While some people do use events like this just to push a agenda, I think most political discussion around tragedies like this are at least well intentioned, though they might not always accomplish anything.
