I hate that I discovered Terry right as he died because he's such a fascinating individual and a rarity among the kinds of people we look at on the Farms. Sure, people made jokes about him, but unlike the cavalcade of pedos, weirdos, and losers we look at here, Terry wasn't a bad guy. He was a programming wizard and the fact that he made an OS from scratch at all is impressive but he suffered from real, crippling mental illness. He had his...quirks to be sure, but in the end his life was less humorous and more tragic than anything.

Terry's story should be remembered as a cautionary tale of just how debilitating mental illness can be. And I'm not talking about the namby-pamby self-diagnosed "I totally have depression/BPD guiz!" losers that have infested the Internet, but genuine illness that outright destroyed his mind and most likely led to his own death. He was too talented for this world, so God called him back to code for Him in Heaven.

I would love to do a paper on Terry. He’s an interesting case of how the internet shapes peoples lives, along with how it can destroy lives. He was extremely smart, and it’s awful that his life was cut short by mental illness. Rest in peace.
