What's really funny is when you have politicians try to drum up support for EVs doing long travels and they send people to block chargers before they arrive so they don"t have to wait.

You just said you had a mobile mechanic do all your work. Is that mobile mechanic doing warranty repairs because your EV is a shitbox and you are poorer than you pretend to be online?
No retard. Tesla has a mobile “ranger” tech do simple repairs and maintenance. I’ve used them for maybe 8 - 10 tire rotations and to swap out my summer and winter wheels / tires (do you know poor people south of Ontario that actually have separate mounted summer / winter tires?), and they did one minor warranty repair (fogged tail light) and two repairs I paid for myself ($158 for a trunk actuator arm, and $200 for the 12 volt battery after 5 years of use). Those repairs were incredibly cheap compared to competitors (if not DIY) and very convenient.

My gas guzzler goes to the Toyota dealer or a trusted indie mechanic that specializes in Toyotas. I often purchase my own OEM parts directly from online parts stores of Lexus dealers. I’m a maintenance spaz and don’t fuck around with stretching out service or using non OEM parts.

My EV is a shitbox in terms of assembly compared to my gas guzzler. But so are most new vehicles. Nobody is denying that. It has been extremely reliable and ridiculously cheap to operate and live with. My entire point was that maintenance on just the gas guzzler is enough of my time that I don’t want another. The EV is just that much easier to live with that I’m not giving that up

You really are an Indian. Why don't you get the same mobile mechanics to fix your "gas guzzler" exactly? It's funny how transparent you people always are.

Aww a Canadian Indian trying to brag about how cool and modern he is with his EV. No one cares about your shitbox you defend with like it was your girlfriend.

Oh look I was right.

Both of those are covered by warranty at real companies BTW.

So why defend it?

Except you were bragging that your EV has mobile service so you dont worry about it when its actually cost you as much in maintenance as your "gas guzzler" which would need half the maintenance since you are splitting it between two vehicles.
The EV is just that much easier to live with that I’m not giving that up
You won't give it up because its a status symbol and you want to appear better than you are. Despite living in Canada literally one of the worst places for batteries.

Zeekr claims that this is an "anti-theft" feature, and that the car is still drivable, but this is literally screaming that World Leaders want to implement this dystopian shit in cars so people can't flee to safety, especially for those on the bottom of Marginalized Identity Powerscaling ratings like anyone White, while letting Nogs, Muslims, Jeets, and trannies full reign to wreck havoc and destruction everywhere with cars.

Chinese battery supplier CALB has issued a service program due to numerous battery issues with GAC Aion S cars. / Archive

The battery warranty will be extended to 8 years/300,000 km (186k mi).

They aren't really MGs, unfortunately. Real shame as they used to be more like this:

Went to a small British car meetup last weekend, and it was a real shame what happened to the industry, as British car companies used to make some really nice cars.

Everything went downhill after the conglomeration into British Leyland, unfortunately.

I don't hate Teslas as much as I hate Rivians. A good number of them essentially bought one because "lol fuck melon husk" and then they, the hypocrites they are, go charge at Tesla chargers.
when youre the only real ev charging station in the country, you dont have much choice. i mean it isnt the only one but it de facto is in number size

This is a video about "en-shit-ification" everything is cheap and subscriptions are eating the bottom of society so most people fall out. Way too safe edgy and pseudo intellectual and too long. Interesting car repair saga. Probably just a "lead them ourselves" given that everybody is talking about how suffocating online censorship is and the unreliability of consumer products are all at once.

Once EVs have become the status quo and almost everyone has an EV, cars will be banned because of all the electrical and fire hazards associated with EVs. With all the safety-ism and restrictions on land use and presumptions on people's behaviours encase in possibly does anything to the environment or other people, EVs are a prefect target for that sort of over regulation. We are in the phase where people are getting into it more after it was a niche. Next after it becomes the norm there will be laws about who is allowed to own cars because of the problems with EVs. You'll have to have a special safety charging building instead of a garage. You will have to live in a house built far away from other buildings and houses encase the fire spreads. People in town houses will not be permitted to own a car because of the space and safety requirements that they cannot meet. The list will go on. This phase will almost completely wipe out car ownership. EVs are just a tool to make cars too dangerous for most people to won. I'm sure of this based on how the companies never want to frame the accidents as leaning opportunities and pay for the damages. The companies try to ignore them and lie and sweep the problems under the rug. The problems are the feature. The loser consumer is just the last retard to realise it.

I knew I saw this shitbox mentioned somewhere. I was driving the other day and saw one., and couldn't place it. Like every other shitbox "crossover" granny car. no soul, no character just ev slop with an ipad glued to the dash.

I don't think China would want that to happen though, as they've been banking on EVs as their ticket to prosperity after their real estate bubble bursted hard. You can see all of the desperation moves that Chinese automakers are making to try to stay afloat due to massive competition with each other, falling domestic demand, and way too much building capacity that isn't being fully utilized. They're doing the whole throw the entire kitchen sink tactics like mass exporting to other countries (and some have implemented higher tariffs and other restrictions because the dumping would get out of control if left unchecked, and some countries like Russia are starting to reject Chinese EVs completely due to their massive flaws and being unsuitable for Russian winters), coming out with new models on a 1-year cycle just like smartphones, and massive price wars galore. They've also seen that the pure EV strategy isn't the way to go, and are also trying to pivot to PHEVs, EREVs, and even HEVs.

China has rules about what days your are allowed to drive your car based on what licence place you have. If you have one type of licence plate you may drive on odd numbered days, but only work days. If you have the other type you may only drive on even numbered work days. There is another type that government and rich people have where you can drive any day. China already has draconian laws that don't make any sense. They don't need to hide behind Eco Nazism to limit society. The West was taught that having more than one child was bad for the environment, so the most bought-in families only had one or no children, while China forced the famous 1 child policy. There is never going to be prosperity. EVs are just another fruity machine for the gambling addicted Chinese to chase after.

I have no doubt that the very fast and poorly engineered EVs are getting banded or are banned after a disaster happens. Probably the bans are just the start of the over regulation. What if the choice was between Chinese EV or no car. Which is scary to think of because China basically makes electric Ford Pintos. Truly the most Finrisi Oscilloscope tablet destroying your USB stick because you bought a cheap Oscilloscope for school and you had to save data from it to do your report but because the Chinese don't understand that USB-A, a standard that has existed for 20 years plus is always, is 5 Volts your USB-A drive is now destroyed by the miss-engineered 12 Volt USB-A port fushushang. I have no idea why the Chinese are like this. I used to assume that this was only the fushushang products that they sell over seas, but with the EVs they sell in their own country, they are generally inept. The most basic things that you and I would ever get wrong, like what voltage USB is supposed to be, the Chinese make a sport of screwing up. It’s like all Chines engineers are James Cage White.

The stupid westerners have this pretence of a free society. The Chinese have no such pretence so they force on their population anything that they want. In the, so called, West, everything that is limiting people needs a “reasonable explanation” to coerce compliance. Usually the “reasonable explanation” is bullshit that does not makes sense under the littlest scrutiny. The illusion of consenting to correct behaviour is constantly pushed in the West, event when the consent is contrived.

Electric cars are a stupid idea.

In China? Not gonna happen.

While the chinese aren't as bad as the indians' Izzat, they do have the concept of saving face.
Telling a big company, especially one that is backed by the CCP, that they did something wrong, even with data on hand, is a de facto crime, that is legislated as de jure despite no laws explicitly banning critiscism.

This guy has lab-verified data from independent testing, has live streamed proof, and yet he's being dragged through the mud.

The CCP banning electric cars outright would be admitting fault, and they have too much riding on EVs to give them up.
Not sure why nobody sees it, but chinese EVs are pretty much the same tactic china used on global Manufacturing a while ago:
- Ship cheap cars at an impossibly low price
- Replace the local market with chinese products
- Exploit the self-sabotage of legacy brands to force them to use your tech, making them nothing but design companies.
- When the local brands are either dead or dependent on chinese tech, china can do anything.
- Jack up prices
- Force the government to drop tariffs
- Refuse to ship essential products to a specific country

And by the time it's too late to notice, you're between a rock and a hard place, do you restart your industry at great cost, with the skill gone, and potentially failing to find materials, as the biggest provider will tell you to fuck off, or do you totally give up, basically becoming a serf to the gooks?

The US already fell for this with product manufacturing forever ago. Keeping gookmobiles out of America is essential.

Most chinese brands know to shut the fuck up outside of china, the few that do get absolutely ass-raped by local courts.
Example below, chinks sell china-grade batteries with critical components made of plastic.
They fail consistently and repeatedly. This guy has hundreds of these batteries, and all of them have the exact same failure mode, and quite a few failed on camera.
Yet the chinamen don't consider that this is in the Free World, and are currently being violently fisted by the right hand of justice.

I meant in other countries. I know Japan was having problems with EV busses from China.
