Texas Governor Greg Abbott pardons Daniel Perry after conviction for shooting armed agitator during BLM riots

"The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles conducted an exhaustive review of U.S. Army Sergeant Daniel Perry’s personal history and the facts surrounding the July 2020 incident and recommended a Full Pardon and Restoration of Full Civil Rights of Citizenship," said Abbott in a statement.

"Among the voluminous files reviewed by the Board, they considered information provided by the Travis County District Attorney, the full investigative report on Daniel Perry, plus a review of all the testimony provided at trial. Texas has one of the strongest ‘Stand Your Ground’ laws of self-defense that cannot be nullified by a jury or a progressive District Attorney. I thank the Board for its thorough investigation, and I approve their pardon recommendation."

This took way too long.

As a reminder, this is a photo of Garrett Foster coming up on Daniel Perry's car with an AK-47.

And this is the impromptu street interview with Garrett Foster before the shooting:
Unfortunately I don't know who the videographer is and where the original livestream can be found, buried in the search engine results by news networks and such in the years since.

Perry is the one driving the vehicle. As you can see the apes swarm the vehicle. The worthless sack of shit who got wasted decided to point a rifle at Perry. Perry responded with his own gun. Sack of shit who died is white, had a disabled black girlfriend. All around good shoot, four years however is a long time to wait for the system to do its job.
She's not just disabled she's like full test tube gub gub snail man, quad amputee

I'll always remember that faggot saying 'they're all pussies who won't do shit if we're armed' and then getting ventilated by a furry airforce guy driving uber.

One of the kino moments of summer 2020.
One of the few funny moments of that summer. The very first guy this anarchist got cute with ended up putting holes in him and then there were no more tough guy theatrics.

I think the way the law works in Texas is you can't just rubber-stamp pardons, you have to go through bureaucracy first. This why you want both red cities and red states, because blue cities can make your life a living hell for a while, while a blue state like California or New York you'd be 100% fucked and there's nothing you can do about it.

Correct. Under Texas law the state governor doesn't have the authority to just pardon someone at will, as some other states do. It has to be recommended by the Board of Pardons and Paroles, once they cleared the recommendation all he needed to was sign it.

It's abhorrent he was even convicted in the first place but at least in this case an injustice was corrected.

Unfortunately, under Texas law the governor has to wait until a formal recommendation is made by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles

Unless the governor wants to ignore the law which is a retarded road to go down no matter how much people may wish it weren't

Also check out r/texas for some wonderful seethe, it's uhhhhmazin

Since California's voting system is full of holes (not that there wasn't fraud in Travis Co.), I would assume that Austin is actually that much worse.
Austin was literally the only county in all of Texas to vote against having a reliable power grid:

Even the Democrats in Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio voted for it. Austin voters are crazy.

Whatever happened to THAT guy? In what planet where shooting in self defense puts YOU in jail?

Edit: oh, he's dead. Never mind. But still, please rationalize how a guy can brandish a rifle on you yet YOU get 25 years for defending yourself.
