The show centers on Leia Forman, the teenage daughter of Eric Forman and Donna Pinciotti, forming bonds with other teenagers as she spends the summer of 1995 with her grandparents, Red and Kitty in Point Place, Wisconsin, 15 years after the events of That ’70s Show.

I am…cautiously optimistic? There’s a bit of cringe here and there, but it’s weird how much I missed Red calling people dumbasses.

Can’t be any worse than the final season of That 70’s Show, at least.

The new cast looks terrible. They don't seem to have any chemistry together and it seems like it's going to be a lot of retreading old jokes in unfunny ways. The only parts of that that looked remotely good were the parts with the old cast in it.

I'm pretty sure Red made me start calling people dumbasses.

Don't know how I feel about this, things have just plain changed so much and not in a good way since 9/11 I don't feel our culture can really capture that nostalgia anymore. It just doesn't feel the same as the original show.

From a marketing perspective I could see issues since the target demographic is Gen X, the smallest.

I suppose at the very least, I’ll understand the “time period” jokes better since I actually lived through the 90’s.

I saw the trailer and was surprised that they're going with either 3 or 4 foreign exchange students this time instead of just Fez.

Red is back calling people dumbasses. Big plus. The Asian looking girl is cool. I like her. The rest of the cast not so much. It feels like they are just repeating the same stoner gags from That 70s Show. Please tell me that they will have fresh material too and it's not just "That 70s Show but 20 Years Later".

Also the house is still 70s style. Just like my grandparents. They never remodeled either. It's perfect. :lit:

I think this is gonna be hit or miss. It doesn't look terrible. But it doesn't look great either. Maybe they can get it together into something really fun to watch outside of the Red and Kitty scenes.

Am I not remembering this right or didn't a few of the old cast members get exposed as chomos?

Danny Masterson is a rapist. Also a scientologist.

“Mixed bag” seems accurate. If they do manage to get a second season, that’ll be when they make the adjustments to improve the series.

holy shit it's real, remember reading about it ages ago when it apparently was just an idea.

Out of over exploited 80's nostalgia and into the hellscape that will be 90's nostalgia.
good thing there's isn't really anything "iconic" about the 90's like synthwave and neon or bell-bottom pants and cringe hairstyles.

Looks like cringey shit mixed with nostalgia pandering. The 90's were a pretty shitty decade anyway. I mean compared to the last 20's years and especially the last 11-12 they were better. But that's not saying much. It's like saying one form of cancer is better than the other. No, they are both bad.
There’s a bit of cringe here and there
The whole thing is concentrated cringe. From the nostalgia pandering using the 90's the reusing of old characters and especially the diversity quota cast.

If they are trying to market to Gen X is that why the cast looks like the Burger King Fun Club? All they are missing is a kid in wheel chair.

Can they just do the show with only Red walking around making observations instead of having the United Nations teen delegation.

Why can't we just let good things stay in the past? This need for constant sequels/remakes kills most everything it touches.
I want something I never knew I wanted. Not a shameless, pandering cash grab.
That said, I hope it's good. I likely won't watch it though.
