I listened to some episodes. Not worth anyone's time. Besides their stick that runs thin pretty quickly they barely know the stories behind the bands they talk about while they can't give any deeper insigth on the bands or their story. All their talk about the music is "Oh yeah, I got this record and I like it". Never really explaining why they actually like the record. Then they start to go off topic and they do it a lot and cheer themselves for going off topic so much.

It's people my age who try so hard to carter to the internet fan base and meme culture. Very gay, very poser.

I mean different strokes for different folks. I think the podcast is like, more of a hangout vibe. Like it isn't just about the music, it's almost about the personalities, conversations, and the whole vibe, almost like those old serious xm shows, or early podcasts from the 2000s and shit. It's very contrarian, and like very counter culture (if such a thing even exists anymore) it's a complete break from modern metal culture, which has become more gay, and like soy over the years (the funderground basically) like chubby dudes with beards and camo baseball caps drinking IPAs and shit, that's what metal has kind of become in a lot of ways, and some people aren't in that.
If that's not ur thing, than it's probably not the show for you. I think Bunsen Burner and Terminus metal podcast are better for like, more focused stuff.
 
Didn't know what else to listen to, so I decided to go through the Savatage discography and not just listen to individual albums like I always do with this band. First time listening to "Fight for the Rock" and this sucks. Horrible album and no idea why they went for this sound especially since both preceding albums are pretty good.

Yeah that's the one black mark on their discography. At least they follow it up with their four classic albums.

My familiarity with the bands discography ends with Streets, so I am curious to hear the other albums. Btw the mixing across all LPs is atrocious, currently listening to some re-release which is slightly better but dear lord.

Edge of Thorns is great

Handful of Rain is good (mainly due to Alex Skolnick) but you can tell they're missing Chriss Oliva.

Dead Winter Dead, The Wake of the Magellan, and Poets and Madmen are somewhere between ok and good.
