I’m like several months late but the new Obituary album is fire. Made me wanna check out some of their earlier stuff

I thought it was a mixed bag myself. Murmaider III was one of the better songs but didn't really sound anything like the other two Murmaiders, which was odd and disappointing. Dethalbum III was better. So, pretty big fan of dethklok/metalocalypse.
New album is very meh and I cant figure out exactly what it is. Nothing really stood out, and it sounded like a weird mix of Deth Album III and Galaktikon 2. Which I'd consider the weakest links in Brendons discography. Still enjoy them, but not this one.
Also went back to the Murmaider well, and it still doesn't hold up to the first one.
Just found out there's a new Taake album. Shit's sounding good like usual.

And while we're on the topic I do find it amusing how Blackbraid keeps popping up in the recommended section on pretty much anything I watch.
I kind of thought myrkur's music wasn't that bad, maybe it's just cuz i like that niche edgy/dark solo female singer/songwriter music like Lingua Ignota, Nicole Dollanghanger and Chelsea Wolfe etc and i viewed her as like a metal variant of that market. I didn't really mind/care that she wasn't recording her shit in some basement on a toys r us recording machine. I think some of her first releases are still pretty good.
That Morbid Saint album is a classic. Some cool albums . The kind of stuff i've been playing lately.

Deservingly. I only listened to it for the first time very recently but its absolutely badass. That Morbid Saint album is a classic
Definitely beg to differ:Morbid Saint is the best thing to ever come from Wisconsin
It should be Sodom or Toxic Holocaust
I prefer Megadeth overall but Metallica in their prime were something else
Nowhere near as much as I used to, largely because I live in a way smaller place now, and moving all that shit was a pain in the ass. Anyway, like someone else said, Bandcamp donates to troon shit, so while you can use it, it's better to support a band directly at a show or through their own website/their record labels website if they have one. There's a few distros still around too, like Hells Headbangers.Curious about other metalhead kiwis do you support your favourite indie artists by buying their merch/CDs/Vinyls etc. ? I been meaning to buy some from bandcamp because I want to both support them and also own their music physically for the better sound quality.
I figure if a band is using Bandcamp, that's probably how they want to sell stuff. But I wait for Bandcamp Friday, if it's something that won't sell out. Sometimes bands sell lossless digital through some other means, but not often.Curious about other metalhead kiwis do you support your favourite indie artists by buying their merch/CDs/Vinyls etc. ?
