No. Death Metal almost became the fad genre of the 90s. A lot of normies were into it in the mid 90s until Nu-Metal came along.I been thinking. Is Cannibal Corpse the first/only death metal band to become popular in the mainstream ? By mainstream I mean like among normies/people that don’t really like extreme metal.
So how did Tetragrammacide end up using the same drum pattern? Coincidence?Guy from the one man Indonesian BDM project Perverted Dexterity went on Facebook recently to bash a particular song on this album's release cuz BrutalDave from Putridity fame used the fuckin exact same drum notes that the PD guy wrote for him to play on his album on this album as well. Theres a song where the drums are deadass the same. Cant bother linking the post but search Januaryo Hardy on FB you might be able to find the post that way. It's not Tetragrammacide's fault tho, Dave is just a scumbag
Great to see some women of color crashing the whiteboi sausage partyI was recently at one of the Babyklok tour dates, I was completely uninterested in Babymetal because their music is untasteful in my opinion and the fanbase deserves its own thread somewhere. I was only interested in seeing Dethkloks set, which was awesome by the way. But lets take a minute to appreciate the pedophiles who venture out of their moms basement to see young asian girls dance on statge.

The only deathcore band I could appreciate tbh. These guys are so talented.
I'm sorry but are you guys calling these bands like this and Cryptopsy "deathcore" just for trolling purposes and i'm not in on it?The only deathcore band I could appreciate tbh. These guys are so talented.
From what I gathered, Dying Fetus were one of the OG bands that all those deathcore bands were trying to imitate.I'm sorry but are you guys calling these bands like this and Cryptopsy "deathcore" just for trolling purposes and i'm not in on it?im trying not to be a dick. But obviously this isn't deathcore.
They were influential to deathcore but they're not deathcore, that's like saying Suffocation is deathcore. It's very very wrong. If you want to hear some of the earliest deathcore check this outFrom what I gathered, Dying Fetus were one of the OG bands that all those deathcore bands were trying to imitate.
As an outsider to deathcore I do suffer from the "it all sounds the same to me!" (I say, being a black metal fanatic).
Maybe recc me some good bands to sharpen my palette (heavier is preferable!)
I FUCKING LOVE DOPETHRONE RRREEEEEEEE!!!Is there a better opening riff than in Funeralopolis? Was incredibly mind blowing hearing it for the first time as a pre-teen first getting into metal.

The genre is traditionally metalcore bands with death metal elements. When bands in the metalcore scene started to become too heavy and these bands came up that implemented death metally riffs that's when "deathcore" essentially was birthed. Dying Fetus is a brutal death/grind band. Not the same thing, king. DF were never even related to metalcore at all.
Oh I'm familiar with Curta'n Wall man! Absolute banger of an album, I'll share it here for others:"Obscuri Aeternum" is one of the best BM albums of the last years. Fucking sucks that it's only available from a shop in the US bc postage is expensive. The Fugitive Wizard guy does guest vocals on the latest Curta'n Wall album too and plays in a band with the Curta'n Wall/Old Nick guy (Abysmal Specter, the guy who runs Grime Stone Records where all these bands are signed).
