US black metal
AKA Von, about 5 gazillion blackgaze/'suicidal' black metal projects, and the occasional good band like Grand Belial's Key or Absu
Ah okay. Yet more proof that only Norway and Germany can make good black metal.

Speaking of Motorhead I've been spinning Another Perfect Day all month. One of the greatest "black sheep" albums in metal.
Indeed. Recently got 1916 on CD and have been playing the hell out of it. 10/10 metal album.

Lots of great bm bands from around the world, even including the US. Was quite surprised when I found out.
Absu, Leviathan, GBK, Akhlys... hell, I even like Judas Iscariot.
I guess you could argue that such a big country should have MORE good bands.

Any thoughts on Diablo Swing Orchestra's latest album? Still sad the opera singer is gone. I didn't like their last album, is this more of the same?

Reign in Blood has nothing on Darkness Descends. 1986's finest.

Preview for the new Einsatzgruppen album just came out

Yo, any chance of sauce on this? I can't find the full length anywhere.

Discovered this the other day. Sounds like Varg actually remembered to write riffs.

Old Artillery is great but I'll never get over how terrible Terror Squad's artwork is. It's like the artist gave up a quarter of the way through.

On a slightly relevant segue here's another cool 80s Danish album with terrible coverart.
Crystal Knight rules! One of my favorite obscure '80s Metal bands.

Have you seen the music video to "War Attack"? It's so goofy:

This is one of the best Motorhead songs/albums and I will brook no argument.
Also enjoy a heavier song that only reinforces my mindset that the entirety of Metallica were addicted to wah pedals ca. 1983.

German metal kick for the past few weeks. Lots of Sodom, Destruction, ect. Found a thrilling young thrash band with two solid albums out right now:

Also anyone else going to the Bay Area Strikes Back tour? First time going out to a concert in two years and no better way to celebrate a night out than with Testament, Death Angel and Exodus.
