Forgot how hard this EP is, holy shit.


Kind of sucks this band basically pulled an Aborted later on & softened their sound up through the years and became more accessible, that just kind of ruins the entire point of death metal imo.
 
Some note worthy songs I listened to today (both of them for the first time)

This one is Blackened Funeral Doom

This one is Post-Black Metal/Experimental Black Metal
I still believe that extreme metal needs more saxophones. Carpathian Forest and Taake both have pulled it off (though they both used session musicians for it)

Not a metal take, but I've stated before that rock and roll was better with saxophone as lead instrument rather than guitar

They could never sit in any genre. You can hear the Testament worship right of the bat, and they dip into thrash plenty of times. Also saw them with God Forbid and that whole New Wave of American Metal that was basically LoG and Devildriver. But they also as you say, have metalcore sounds here and there as well.

Bit like Chimaira in that they had no real clear sound. Bit of a mishmash. I did always like Stepping outside the Circle, but I also like Over the Wall by Testament and thats what it feels like to me.

I just saw this I didn't know the singer had cancer! Did he manage to recover or is there any more info about him? I can't find hardly anything about that band but love their songs.

I had contact with the band ~3 weeks ago. He's still undergoing treatment but given his situation he's doing fine.

Outside their Instagram page (hungarianmushroompeople) and their shop they don't have any online presence.
