WHAT HEEEEEAVIER THAN SLEEP TOKEN?I even met a older boomer type once who thought they were the most brutal thing ever.

I think it's a vocals thing. People outside of metal or people who only touch the surface of it tend to hyperfixate on vocals I find. Listening to instrumentation almost seems to be a learned skill.WHAT HEEEEEAVIER THAN SLEEP TOKEN?

This is a fair point. When you listen to metal for years, you learn to ignore the vocals unless they're really bad like in Vio-Lence.I think it's a vocals thing. I wouldn't say I ignore them, so much as I treat them like another instrument adding texture to the track. This is a fair point. When you listen to metal for years, you learn to ignore the vocals unless they're really bad like in Vio-Lence.
Not just hyperfixate, the music is written to encourage this. There is simply very little "music" in a pop backing track. Same reason why many metal listeners dislike deathcore, as it reduces the riff focus and puts more priority on vocal lines.I think it's a vocals thing. In preparation for Hells Heroes this year, I listened to their 1st studio album. It was alright. Only a couple tracks caught my ear. Their live performance was pretty good though. It captured my imagination and they had good riffs from time to time. Is their new album better than the first one?New Castle Rat track and music video kicks ass. I love this sword & sorcery fantasy aesthetic. Wish mainstream fantasy went in this direction instead of the soft and gay shit we typically get where everyone talks like a 21st century Los Angeles resident with the sexuality to boot.
EDIT: Wait I'm fucking retarded this has been out for months lmao
Hey I like Sean Killian! When you listen to metal for years, you learn to ignore the vocals unless they're really bad like in Vio-Lence.
This is cool but I don't think anyone can ever surpass the original trve kvlt video.
Based retards
Love Gamma Ray, especially with Ralf Scheepersso many Gamma Ray albums served as the soundtrack to my teenaged years. This one brings back many memories.
It's been a little bit since I listened to their first album but yeah, I think they've only gotten better. Very solid. Is their new album better than the first one?
Yes he sounds amazing, especially in that live video. It’s funny, a clip from that live performance was suggested to me on Instagram reels a couple weeks ago.Love Gamma Ray, especially with Ralf Scheepers
I was looking those two up (some bangers, btw) and stumbled across this maniac on Youtube. That is just an unreasonable amount of material. I wish he had a metal playlist, as the search feature isn't great.Reminds me a bit of Buffalo (AUS) or Bang.
