The Abortion Debate Containment Thread - Put abortion sperging here.

Anyway, back to abortion talk. Why don't all the people butthurt about this just move to a state that allows them to murder babies?
"just move". why should a woman have to pack up her entire life and move because she wants an abortion? how is that not fucking insane to you? why should someone who spent their entire lives in the state they're in, where abortion was previously legal, suddenly be forced to move because a partisan court decided that abortion actually isn't federally protected anymore?

Two words, nigga. TOO. BAD.

If the majority of the people in the state think that murdering babies is wrong, well, deal with it. Nobody cares what some whining psychotic minority of deviants think.

Because freedom of association exists. People want different things in their communities. If your community decides on something you don't like, yes, you have to deal with it or move. That sucks, I agree. This is something I've had to deal with multiple times. I would have certainly preferred it if the people I associated with simply changed their own preferences to match my own, but ultimately my only choices were to conform or leave, and I chose the latter. Beating them into compliance through force was not one of my options, and it should not have been.

Although, ironically, I would make the case that it should be when it comes to the particular issue of abortion, but that aside.

6 people don't represent any "community" of Americans.

Hey i only ask because i only see you in deep thoughts.
Yes i do have a slight problem with it. People who solely come here for political discussion are the cancer killing the site.
Gangwee is gay.

I don't care about your country, I care about America. I'm American and most of my countrymen don't support abolishing abortion.
Other countries shouldn't depend on us for gibs then.
For sure snool. It's just as crazy to hand money out to other countries as it is to spend it to enforce abortion laws.
Motherfuckers just need to learn to keep their noses out of the business of people they've never even met.

How is that possible if they only post in one forum? Just ignore that forum if you're not interested in political discussion. If spergs start going out into the lolcow threads and arguing about this shit then sure, that's cancer, but I don't do that. I also find it weird that you'd be fixated on where other random internet nobodies post and what their motives are and etc., but I guess given what site we're on, it's actually understandable.
I said solely motherfucker, solely. And I just so happened to notice which is why I ask. And I care about the quality of the site which is why I care about what some random prick is doing.

tbh i do approve of alogging the gunt

Correct, which is why each state gets to decide if it wants abortion to be legal or not, through its representatives and governor which are elected by the people in that state.
who may or may not do what personally suits them to the detriment of their constituents. also that assumes that all of their constituents are a hivemind and think the exact same way. sure, there's a lot of single-issue voters out there that might take issue with abortion, but i'd imagine many more people understand the nuance of the situation.

Gerrymandering and voter suppression makes it so the representatives aren't actually representing their people

Religious nuts have banned a medical procedure, pathetic.

Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement Friday, in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, that states cannot ban mifepristone, a medication that is used to bring about an abortion, based on disagreement with the federal government on its safety and efficacy.

Why it matters: With Roe overturned, prescribed drugs that terminate pregnancies are likely to become the next major contention between abortion rights activists and opponents of abortion rights.

Already, almost half of U.S. states have banned or tightly restricted abortion pills — two medicines named mifepristone and misoprostol — and more could soon follow suit, Axios' Oriana Gonzalez, Ashley Gold and Jacque Schrag report.
How it works: Mifepristone and misoprostol have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in the first 10 weeks of pregnancy.

The agency in December lifted long-standing restrictions on mifepristone, allowing doctors to prescribe the medication online and send them to patients by mail.
Misoprostol was available with a prescription before the FDA's decision.
Despite the changes, many states have moved to make it illegal for doctors to mail the medications.

For example, Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) signed a law in June making it illegal for anyone to mail abortion pills, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
What they're saying: "The Department strongly supports efforts by Congress to codify Americans’ reproductive rights, which it retains the authority to do. We also support other legislative efforts to ensure access to comprehensive reproductive services," Garland said in the statement Friday.

"And we stand ready to work with other arms of the federal government that seek to use their lawful authorities to protect and preserve access to reproductive care," he added.
"In particular, the FDA has approved the use of the medication Mifepristone. States may not ban Mifepristone based on disagreement with the FDA’s expert judgment about its safety and efficacy."
Yes, but: It is far from settled law as to whether states can ban the pills, and the issue will likely have to be litigated in the courts, though there's really no clear precedent, according to the Washington Post.

well, at least merrick did something right.

Not really. GOP has done it more and the SC has backed their suppression maps pretty regularly.
That's some far reaching supposition and I can prove the left has become a far more radicalized mess than the right as ever been.
What does that have to do with abortion?
Calling abortion just a medical procedure doesn't illustrate that there is a literal human death involved. Call it personal bias. My point is you can call any horrid thing as just a medical procedure. You call call lobotomy a medical procedure, doesn't change what it is.

Why would you care if someone only joined to discuss politics though, if they did it within, y'know, the forum specifically dedicated to political discussion?

If you don't want people who talk about politics to be on the site, then you shouldn't have a forum for political discussion. If you do have a forum dedicated to political discussion, why would you expect people who want to talk about politics to not show up? I don't understand your complaint.

Counterpoint: Leftist ideologues used SCOTUS as work-around to enforce their norms on abortion without actually having to go through the legislative process.

Or we pass a constitutional amendment. Or tie federal highway funds to it.

And I'm sure the Dem-controlled federal government will look at shit like that. Also, guess you gave up on the whole "muh Jesus" angle. Lol.

What are you proposing? That Republican voters who elected Republican representatives do not actually want them to ban abortion? Because I think some basic polling would probably disagree with you on that.

Do you even know what gerrymandering is?

Abortion is a medical procedure, lol. You don't care that corpses now have more rights than women do. Then you wonder why people say you hate women
