frutiger aero needs to make a comeback as big as y2k's. i'm in love with it.

I vividly remember dreaming about being in places like these as a kid, especially the first hallway. Imagine if hospitals looked like that

I did grow up in a relatively flat area. In car rides I liked looking out into the distance at radio towers blinking at night.
I absolutely get this. I grew up in a flat area and used to love seeing the control tower at our local airport flashing it's green light. Or, if at my Nana's, who lived in a tall building for the area, seeing ship lights flashing at night.

I want you both to do yourself a favor, and at least once in your life go to Kansas then drive from Hays to Salina (or vice versa) long after sunset.
This video in no way does it justice.

That's fuckin awesome. Night driving is nice, one of the downsides to my area is its not very pleasant to night drive unless the moon is full. I wanna go to Nevada or New Mexico and drive around trying to see ufos. Or night drive in a city, that's a popular aesthetic right there. T-top car, 80s tunes on the radio.

Wow that wiki gave me a headache...

Anyway, I’m not really original when it comes to aesthetics I like.

Various wallpapers from late 90s to early 2000s websites. I always associated these types of wallpapers when with the image of an ethereal yet brighter future.
You beat me to it. Anything made in Bryce 3D looks awesome.

Speaking of 90’s, I like the aesthetic of Point-and-Click adventure games from that era. Anything made by Cyan, like Myst and Riven, are works of art. Look at how gorgeous these are!

Both these posts are perfect examples. But I do prefer Myst’s environment better, it has more of a “magical” feeling to it. I find Riven to be more... rusty I guess? I don’t know if it’s nostalgia speaking (probably is)

I love the rocket and especially the little boat. Always wanted one of those tiny boat in a bottle as a kid.

I also have a visceral aversion to anything pink, I think it’s too cutesy of a color. I don’t mind cute stuff, I just have a low tolerance for them. It’s like sugar, a little of it is fine, but it can quickly become sickening.

Love those early 90’s computer graphics. ❤️

I personally think Myst has a better soundtrack than Riven. I recently bought the vinyl’s of the original OST.

If you like early 90s CGI then boy oh boy do I have the music video for you:
So cool. The Future Sound of London has some really great music, I really like Expander, from Accelerator (available as a CD on their bandcamp, although I never understand why artists don't also upload their stuff digitally there, they're already selling physical formats, they'd get to sell so much more if they offered digital formats too... I can't afford vinyl :/)

It's digitally available on bandcamp as well, for anyone interested:

There isn't a cohesive aesthetic here, but I found these two music videos visually interesting (and I like the music, too):

(this was released on trip recordings, a Russian label that regularly puts out some great techno, highly recommend)

There's an excellent playlist on Spot, if you use it for just this thing. Aptly called Night Drive by Overwerk. I really rate it.

Sounds good to me <3. I would love some posted playlists or recommendations. I’m not the most technologically savvy person and I get tired of having to scourge through apps to find things.

If you’re willing to put up with the Apple ecosystem most of their discography is available digitally on iTunes/Apple Music.

Speaking of early CGI music videos, One Love by the Prodigy had a cool one as well:

Here's a small sample of 80s songs, I tried to get a range from pure pop to new wave. I'd embed them as YT links if my phone could handle it. The shame of being a phoneposter...

And a neat 80s car you can imagine yourself driving for the full aesthetic

Maybe this is more nostalgic than ~✨a e s t h e t i c ✨~ but these feel very 90’s/early 2000’s…was anyone else here awarded these by teachers in grade school? We had quite the fancy eraser racket going on during recess.

I have a box full of those in my apartment storage somewhere. They were awful as actual erasers, but the girls in my classes liked to collect them. Didn’t have any cute pencils though, I always insisted on using mechanical pens. So I’d show up to class with a cute flower eraser and a drafting pen I’d nicked from my father’s office.

Thanks for sharing that!

Giving money to Apple is something I avoid like the plague, but thanks for the recommendation nonetheless.

An aesthetic I love is ethereal beauty, subtle, floaty/flowy things, like hair and sheer fabrics being moved by wind/water. Long hair and things that look like they're flowing in general:
