The Amazing Digital Circus - Western Isekai that probably will become Hazbin Hotel killer

I saw a theory that since now they can freely swear and everything, the episode would pretty much immediately get demonetized on YouTube, so them, putting it in theaters is sort of a way to counteract the loss of revenue

By releasing the movie early, they can give TADC fans a small hit of dopamine from seeing how it ends, BUT since you can't pause a movie in theaters and would need to pay MORE money to see the movie again, fans would start going through withdrawal over not being able to rewatch the finale and go through it frame by frame to analyze every detail like usual, watch their favorite part, make memes, etc

That's when the Youtube/Netflix versions drop on June 19th. It'll cause all the tensity that's been building up to go all at once. All day for the next few days starting from June 19th, the fandom's going to go all out on discussing, gushing, and memeing on it.

I didn't consider this before. This gamble is even more high risk, high reward than I thought. If the finale is bad, or just doesn't live up to expectations, the fans will have two weeks to ruminate and rage about it. The fans who didn't get to see it in theaters will be primed to hate it before seeing it.

But I imagine if Goosework and Glitch were unsure about the ending, they would never have gone down this route.

I think the other pertinent topic at hand is if the buildup to it is sufficient as people are already shitting all over it en masse. There is already an exhausted feeling of dread for anything "indie" now, this theatre release only cements that. It is not "indie" it is "faggot tumblr AA studios".

This is another aspect that could backfire on Glitch. Do they really want their first introduction to the general public to be IHNMAIMS fanfic with trannies and therapy sessions? Just imagine how confused normies who never watched an episode before will be.

If you go into any series to watch the last episode first you're gonna have a bad time. TV shows used to have movies that were just finales in the past. This isn't that but I'm thinking now how many people would have been fucking confused if they watched the old pokemon movies or the 80s transformers one without knowing anything prior.

Gooseworx has said she recommends rewatching Digital Circus after finale. It's Andor situation but in Circus now as watching Andor flips view of Rogue One entirely around.
rewatching it after episode 8 was pretty good already, so I'm very interested in what episode 9 shows.

also, here are some interesting things I noticed about the episode 9 promo art:

Interesting implications for (Jax's?) keys. What does it mean? idk.

ragatha-frog.pngJax-frog.png

Ribbit reaching for Ragatha. Something happened between these two. Interestingly, however, despite Ragatha voicing over the section with Ribbit, the shot is from Jax's POV (see his overalls).

And lastly, we have these creepy little guys. Dunno what they are, but they remind me of that other promo art thing I pointed out earlier:

Which is curiously absent from other postings of the same promo image:

I think I saw someone say that the version with it was AI but I never saw any proof one way or another. Very odd either way. Note also that there's a weird skull thing that looks like the creepy guys in that image as well.

It took me a while to realize it, but I really do not care for Jax at all. He's the designated main character aside from Pomni but all the attempts to make me feel sorry for him or invested in his development aren't really working on me.

From my experience, a lot of normies are aware of the existence of The Amazing Digital Circus because their kids are huge fans of the series.

Not a huge Jax fan either. Honestly my favorite Jax moment is just last episode where, when everyone else is calling out Caine, he joins in too. No snide remark first, no joke, no roll of his eyes, he just starts calling Caine out too along with the others. It's a small thing but I like it.

If it does ever come out (kinda doubt it) that this whole thing was motivated by money

Glitch literally got started because SMG4’s brother wanted to start monetizing his content. Digital Circus exists because they asked Gooseworx to make a show for them.

I really never got why people pretend like Glitch is actually this really dignified indie animation studio who’s solely in it for the love of the game. They’re not, they’re a business, and they clearly wanna be Disney for YouTube cartoons despite how much performative shit talking they might do towards the Mouse on Twitter.

The Space King guys literally told Netflix to fuck off when they were offered a TV show deal. They’re objectively more indie and are in it cuz they just wanna make cartoons then two guys whose first show was primarily financed by Crunchyroll and Epic Games.

The funniest way this can go is if Disney did what they did with Sonic 3 and pressured international movie theaters to not show Digital Circus so more people would pay attention to Toy Story 5. It would be an asshole move, they'd get a ton of backlash, and it wouldn't matter because people are going to side with the """indie""" group anyways

But MAN would it be funny as hell to see the entire TADC fandom collectively lose their shit

So what even is this website and now movie even about? Asking for those who never heard of it until now

I just realised they might be trying to do an End of Evangelion larp by trying to release this as "the final act" and putting it in movie theatres. Except of course this is the real ending, not the alternate. Which rest assured will likely be worse

I also like how when pomni instigates the calling out she's clearly imitating Jax's earlier shit he did when he was putting up a front claiming to like to hurt people and is animated in a manner similar to how he was during that segment. neat little visual callback. Also neat how the intent is kind of the opposite because it's to keep caine's attention instead of push someone away.

(and the many more that said something like this.)

Normies and critics can get fucked because they have no interest in source material. Joe and Jane Bloggs isn't going to buy a movie ticket. They see computer animation as "for kids". It's not the 1980s where people would turn up at the theatre and see a movie or two based on the poster. No one is going to see this movie by accident. If it breaks into the mainstream, they'll watch one of those AI summary videos or skim wikipedia to get caught up.

I had typed a long rant about culture war shit, and how movies like Sonic, Mario, Minecraft, and Iron Lung sold a shit ton of movie tickets despite poopoos from the critics and complete confusion from normies. But the short version is that the age of every movie being "for everyone" (with an invisible asterisks big enough to block out the sun) is over.

I’m not surprised, the site was literally down for a while with how many people were on it.

I'm not sure if they have the grass roots support of Markiplier. Hopefully cinemas start getting a clue and start showing movies people want instead of playing Hollywood slop to an audience of empty seats.

I think it's going to end with them somehow getting a ton of data into the circus and remaking it into a place close enough to the real world and accepting that this is as good as it's gonna get.
